For National HIV Prevention Day I had the honor of MC-ing & performing for a second time in Times Square this year (thats more times than Madonna, just saying 🤭)!

The Deputy Manhattan Borough President, Miesha Smith, presented us with a proclamation recognizing the day, emphasizing that HIV prevention is a human right regardless of income or politics!

Thank you to @prep4all and all the speakers that joined us in this celebration Sarah Braunstein, Dr. Oni Blackstock, Jeremiah Johnson, John Meade, Tony Morrison!

What a weekend. 🥹💛

Friday — stood in the middle of Times Square and used my voice for National HIV Prevention Day. Advocacy isn’t a moment, it’s a movement, and I’m honored to keep showing up for it. Then swapped signs and speeches for fishnets and time warps at @rockyhorrorbway on Broadway with my husband @jskott and bestie @mynameisjro — because joy and purpose can absolutely share a day. 🏳️‍🌈🎭

Saturday — bottomless brunch, bottomless love. Reunited with former coworkers who became family somewhere along the way, and picked right back up like no time had passed at all. That’s how you know it’s real. 🥂✨

Sunday — closed it out wrapped in love with my husband @jskott and our wife @ayanakarin, watching the incomparable @missjillscott do what she does best. Soul music, soul family. 🎶💍💫

Advocacy. Chosen family. Real family. Music that heals. This was a weekend to remember. 🙏🏾❤️

Friday, July 17, marks National HIV Prevention Day 2026. PrEP4All, a group of organizations and health leaders devoted to increasing access to HIV prevention, launched the awareness day in 2018 as “a call to action to advance a simple yet urgent belief: HIV prevention is a human right, and access to lifesaving prevention tools should never depend on income, insurance status, geography or politics.” National HIV Prevention Day complements PrEP4All’s campaign for a federally funded National PrEP Program that would provide the full spectrum of HIV prevention, including testing, sexual health care, medications, harm reduction and more. On National HIV Prevention Day, July 17th, Latinos in the South and the Latino Community Fund (LCF) of Georgia are celebrating a major milestone for Georgia's Latino community.

This year, Senate Bill 195 went into effect, removing a significant barrier to PrEP access by allowing pharmacists to prescribe HIV prevention directly.

Additionally, we challenge our leaders to examine the structural shifts still needed to fully reach Hispanic/Latine communities across the South—whether through pharmacies or otherwise.

En este Día Nacional de la Prevención del VIH, el 17 de julio, los Latinos en el Sur y el Latino Community Fund de Georgia (LCF) celebramos un logro importante para la comunidad latina de Georgia.

Este año, el Proyecto de Ley Senatorial 195 entró en vigencia, eliminando una barrera significativa para el acceso a la PrEP al permitir que los farmacéuticos receten directamente la profilaxis contra el VIH.
