What a journey and it still feels unreal… (long caption ahead)

Going back to my roots was like rediscovering a part of myself that I had forgotten. I remember when I first started pole and was trying hard to blend in to the two most common styles I saw. Heels wasn’t for me and barefoot I struggled hard with keeping my toes pointed and leg extensions. I kept trying and trying and eventually forgotten my dance roots. Thank you to my @inspirationstudiosdance family and especially @reneefuzz, and @dongfangxr for believing in me and convincing me to just be me for @polesportorg Nationals. 💃🏻👟

Five years ago I walked into a pole studio out of curiosity, hoping to build self confidence and love. At that time I never imagined myself competing in PSO, qualifying and going to U.S. Nationals placing 3rd in the Men’s Professional.

Last but not least, special shoutout to my @pressplay916 dance family because I was reminded of to always “Do what you love and love what you do. Always press P.L.A.Y. in your life” ▶️

Honored to have had the opportunity to share a contemporary fusion master class with the incredible dancers of Press P.L.A.Y. at the original Step I Dance & Fitness in Sacramento.

Bringing contemporary movement to a team rooted in hip hop was a powerful exchange watching them dive in with curiosity, commitment, and full-out energy was unforgettable. I’ll always remember the creativity and openness in that room.

Grateful for the experience, and the artists who made it so special.

@kidathegreat at 7yrs old picked up the choreo in 15 mins and jumped in and freestyles with me. Yes, he did it all with a sucker in his mouth he still love candy!
