🍎 Latergram Cidercon post! What a week in Portland for @pickcider’s @ciderconference … AKA LobbyCon 2024. Record attendance plus a couple days of being stuck together in a 2-block radius courtesy of icy conditions made for more time with more friends, new and old.

🍾 So many highlights! Informative sessions, late nights at The Place, later nights in the lobby (including an @almaciderco hosted Perry disgorging party!), an incredible mix of events for @orciderweek, Ashley stalking a bottle of @alpenfirecider Foxwhelp, learning about the Nordic cider culture and befriending some of the cider makers behind it, and more. So many hugs and so many bottles shared.

🦪 An evening of ciders and oysters with Olav from @aldesider back in Seattle kept the festivities rolling into this week. Not sure what @empyricalcider is more incredible at, cider making or hosting cider friend gatherings 🥂❤️

This Sunday from 4-8PM, come out to Watershed Pub for a special cider tasting! We’ll have tasting flights, glass pours, and bottles to go featuring four exceptional ciders from @pressthenpress:

🍎 @empyricalcider Inquiry - estate grown quince and traditional English cider apples including the famed Kingston Black apple. Sparkling, tropical, and floral.

🍎 @olivers_cider Lubrication - a rare chance to enjoy some Oliver’s at a Seattle pub! A classic dry, tannic cider all the way from Herefordshire in West Country, England.

🍎 @greenwoodcider Kingston Black Single-Varietal - a limited release from Greenwood. Classic KB flavors.

🍎 @libertycider Brown’s Apple - a rare apple to find in a single-varietal cider, but oh what a treat. Bittersweet baked apple, stone fruit, and caramel sugar flavors round out a beautifully balanced cider.

But wait, there’s more! It’s the 1 year anniversary of @pressthenpress new ownership and we want to celebrate with Pommeau, so we’re bringing a beauty of a Pommeau with us to share. Come hang! 🥂

Once upon a time, we met the founders of Cockrell Cider at the Stem Cider tasting room in Denver. This was years before Cockrell opened their cidery and before Press Then Press was a thing. Just some cider lovers taking a break from the beer flowing at GABF, and randomly getting to know each other and laughing at how small the world is - them planning a cidery in Puyallup and both of us (Storie/Erik) growing up on the plateau. Many years later - and many shared glasses of cider together later - we are thrilled to welcome @cockrellhardcider into our cider shop! Great people, great ciders, and a wide variety of cider styles to try. Now available via @pressthenpress for shipping to most of US and delivery locally in Seattle area. Cheers 🥂 #cider #smallworld #gabf #drinklocal #cidergram #pickcider

Join a guided tasting and sensory analysis hosted by The American Cider Association (@pickcider) and Alma Cider (@almaciderco). Dave Kawler, Alma’s cider maker and Certified Pommelier, will co-host a webinar with the ACA on July 26th. Check out the link in our bio for more info on the event and to order your Alma ciders from us. The webinar will be recorded and made available for viewing after the live stream, too. A great primer for anybody planning to take the Certified Pommelier exam, or for anybody who wants to learn about doing a comprehensive sensory analysis of #cider.
.
The Alma guided sensory analysis bundle features Alma’s award winning Rosé, made with 100% Airlie Red Flesh apples, and Alma’s Semi-Sweet cider, a blend of apples and pears from Washington’s Skagit Valley.
.
The bundle also includes a third calibration cider - a delicious dry cider that will come with a completed sensory analysis form. This will help attendees align their palates in advance of the webinar.
