Happy Cinco de Mayo! This cocktail was designed a while ago with the goal of making it a 'burning floral fields' cocktail with smoke, but chose to switch if up today and make it Mexican themed.
It's balanced so you smell the subtle smoke of the Mezcal first, taste the sweeter lavender and violet flavours next, and then finish with a slow, gentle burn of the jalapeño. Enjoy!

With teases of summer hitting Boston, this red wine cocktail was a great middle ground between winter and the warm(ish) weather - not to mention the jalapeño for some extra heat.

🍷 6oz Red Wine
🥃 1.5oz Casamigos Reposado Tequila
🍊 1oz Cointreau
🍯 0.5oz Agave Nectar
🌵 0.25oz Mezcal
🍊 Half an Orange
🍋 Half a Lime
🍎 Half an Apple
🌶️ 3 Jalapeño Slices (add or remove for spice level)

Steps (per cocktail):
1. Chop the orange and apple into bitesize chunks, lime in wedges, and jalapeño in slices and throw into a jug.
2. Add the tequila, Cointreau, Agave Nectar, and Mezcal over the mixture.
3. Mix and then add the wine. Cover and allow to steep for an hour at least (I left it 24 hours in the fridge).
4. When ready to drink, add ice to the jug and stir.
Strain into a glass with more ice and garnish with sliced orange, apple and lime.

This cocktail is similar to the sangria with a winter twist and an alcoholic kick. It can be made as a batch or individual drinks, and served on ice or as is for those looking for something a bit warmer this winter.

🍷 4oz Red Wine
🍎 2oz Apple Cider
🥃 1oz Basil Hayden's Bourbon
🥃 1oz Courvoisier Cognac
🍊 0.5oz Cointreau Orange Liqueur
🍏 Half an Apple
🍊 Half an Orange
🌿 Cinnamon Stick
🪴 5 Cloves
🧂 1 Heaped Tablespoon Brown Sugar

Steps (per cocktail):
1. Chop the orange and apple into bitesize chunks and throw into a jug.
2. Add the cloves and cinnamon stick and then sprinkle the brown sugar over the mixture.
3. Mix and then add the wine. Allow to steep for an hour (or more).
4. When ready to drink, add the bourbon, brandy and Cointreau and stir.
Strain into a glass with ice (ideally a block or large cube) or as is and garnish with sliced orange, apple and cinnamon stick.

An impromptu Saturday morning concoction, following up to the Three Cs: Campari Cucumber Cocktail of the summer. A simple, yet delicious, winter warmer to start the weekend right and ease into the (early) festive season!
☕
The Milk
🥛 4oz Milk
🥃 1oz RumChata

The Coffee
☕ Flat Back French Press Coffee
🍦 1oz Vanilla Vodka
☕ 0.5oz Kahlua Coffee Liqueur
🍫 0.5oz Monin White Chocolate Syrup
🥄 Half Teaspoon Cinnamon Powder

1. Warm up the milk in the microwave at full power for about 40 seconds (don't want it too hot).
2. Add the RumChata.
3. Foam the milk using a milk frother (~30 seconds) to get it nice and foamy and then pour into the glass.
4. Stir the vanilla vodka, white chocolate syrup and cinnamon powder into the coffee.
5. Slowly pour the coffee into the milk, letting the foam rise above the glass rim (don't worry - it's not going to overflow!).
6. Dust with cocoa and enjoy!

A second cocktail keeping in line with the Brazilian theme this week. This time a boozy dessert cocktail containing bananas baked with cinnamon sugar for 20 minutes and blended with a variety of alcohol and ice.
Shout out to the @threeofstrongspirits 's Merry Meeting Rum which adds a delicious, rich spice flavour, unlike any other spice rum I've tried before. It worked perfectly with the sweetness of the bananas and the RumChata.

After infusing Tito's Vodka with strawberries and fresh basil, I've finally created a cocktail to tap into the delicate flavours of the infusion.

For a spirit forward cocktail, this is incredibly light and easy to drink. This is stirred to minimize ice chips and maintain the vibrant colour, whilst also preventing over-diluting it.

I struggle with the bitterness of Campari, so wanted to create a cocktail to balance it out, yet benefit from the bright, vibrant colour.
I incorporated the herby notes from fresh basil to compliment the Campari, with the fresh cucumber and ginger ale to sweeten the balance.
