If you’re waiting until you feel perfectly informed, perfectly confident, perfectly prepared, or perfectly sure you won’t get it wrong, you may never move.

That applies to your career. Your voice. Your allyship. Your activism.

You can be nervous and still speak up.
You can be unsure and still take action.
You can be learning and still show up.

Courage is not waiting until the fear disappears.

It’s deciding the fear doesn’t get the final say.

Loved this conversation with @prettiestproblem about what it looks like to stop overthinking and just go for it.

The internet doesn’t care about context. It just cares about content. 👀

@prettiestproblem (Me’Chele Daves) learned that the hard way when a raw, unfiltered “I missed the Beyoncé concert” moment turned into a viral pile-on — because nothing gets people more invested than watching someone else’s bad day.

Here’s the thing: authenticity and strategy aren’t opposites. You can still be real online — you just get to decide when, how, and how much. Once it’s out there, it’s out there. People will spin it however serves them, not you.

The lesson isn’t “stop sharing.” It’s “share on purpose.”

🎥 Full conversation linked — she’s got more gems on what going viral (for the wrong reasons) actually teaches you about protecting your peace and your image.

Next up on Black Business Roll Call Atlanta Edition: Me’Chele Daves, the makeup artist behind some of the biggest sets in ATL. She’s also my PERSONAL MUA! 😉

She built her entire portfolio the hard way — posting ads on Craigslist back when that was actually how you found clients, trading makeup for photos before she ever charged a dime. That hustle connected her to Atlanta casting director Kay Clark, which got her doing makeup on video sets for artists like Gucci Mane. Then one day, a last-minute swap meant to pair her with Tyrese’s wife instead put her in the chair with Sheree Whitfield — and that connection turned into Me’Chele doing Sheree’s makeup for a full season of Real Housewives of Atlanta.

No agency. No shortcut. Just consistency, good energy, and being someone people wanted to book again.

📌 Save this for the next glam moment you actually want to look good for
🔁 Share it with the friend who’s always asking “who did your makeup?”
