Monday Chronicles:
For over eight years, I’ve had the privilege of calling Tanya my client, but somewhere along the way, she became my friend.

For over 20 years, she has served Atlanta through catering, and for the last three, she gave South Fulton Pretti Plates Brunch Bar—our own little version of Cheers.

A place to gather, unwind, laugh, and create memories with the people we love.

I’m doing this on my own, and if you know Tanya, you know exactly why I had to do it this way.

Now, Tanya needs the community she has so effortlessly served. Please reach out and ask how you can help.

And if you’re able to give, her (Cash App is $PrettiPlates.)

She needs to be lifted up in every way. If you’re able, please donate. No amount is too small. Let’s pour back into someone who has spent so many years pouring into others.

MY CHICAGO SUMMER | FINALE 🎤✨

Ending my Chicago summer series with one of my favorite experiences yet and one that felt especially full circle.

I’ve been watching Quentin Latham, better known as Funky Dineva, on YouTube for YEARS. Then, back in June 2024, I actually got the opportunity to be on his YouTube show to talk about my travel agency, Stampedd.

Fast forward to this summer, and I’m in Chicago attending Down to the Bar, his live experience celebrating everything we love about old-school R&B. Talk about a full-circle moment. 🥹

The event was basically an afternoon of dancing, karaoke, throwback R&B and good energy—and Chicago really showed OUT. The Mayor of Chicago, Brandon Johnson, was in the building, and then Miki Howard came through and gave us a live performance! 🎶🔥

If you love 80s and 90s R&B, this is absolutely an experience you’ll want to check out. Down to the Bar is currently traveling to different cities, so if you see that Funky Dineva is coming to yours, GET YOUR TICKETS. You already know you’re going to be singing every word. 😂

And a huge thank you to Funky Dineva, Tanya at Pretty Plates and the entire team for the hospitality and for bringing this experience to Chicago. It was such a fun way to spend an afternoon and the perfect way to close out my summer.

And just like that… My Chicago Summer is a wrap! 🥹❤️

Thank you for coming along with me as I explored more of the city I call home. From boats on Lake Michigan to wellness events, cultural experiences, music, food and everything in between, this summer reminded me that there is ALWAYS something new to experience in Chicago.

I’ll be back next summer with more places to go, things to do and experiences to share. Until then… Chicago, you’ve been good to me. 🏙️❤️

What should be on my Chicago list for next summer? 👇🏽

That’s what real friends are for baby 💕🥹 #inthemixwithtwixt

When @msfunkydineva told his sold out audience of 300+ people to pull up to our friend @prettiplates restaurant & he was buying everyone drinks, our entire friend group sprung into action and poured drinks, took orders & served food to a crowd of over 100+ people.

I ain’t know what the heyell I was doing but you can now add mixologist to my resume 😂🥂❤️
