Thank you to everyone who attended our Screening and Discussion at Nourish Scotland's Recipes for Resilience COP26 event last Tuesday! 🌎

Along with a screening of our first #FoodHeroScot documentary of Steampunk Coffee, we premiered our next documentary of Re:Store Moray which will be released to the public in December!

After the screenings, we were joined by panellists Louise Humpington, Owner of Grain & Sustain, Eleanor Cunningham, Founding Director of Edinburgh Food Social, Environmental Educator Isaias Hernandez, a.k.a Queer Brown Vegan, and our very own Moh Al-Haifi, for a discussion on ‘How Businesses Are Driving Systemic Change Within The Food Industry.’

Three questions we looked at were:
- What are the current problems surrounding our food systems?
- What role can small, local businesses play in the transition to regenerative food systems?
- What changes can larger F&D businesses make to tackle the climate crisis

If you have any answers or ideas that you’d like to share with us, email us at change@foodheroscot.co.uk for the chance to be featured in our newsletter!

It was great coming together as a community of conscious businesses and consumers, especially while Scotland is hosting such an important summit, to celebrate some of our #FoodHeroScot winners and discuss the future of sustainable food systems.

We’ve got some exciting news - #FoodHeroScot have been invited to COP26! 🌍

Join us in-person or via livestream on Tuesday 2nd November for our Screening & Discussion on ‘How Businesses Are Driving Systemic Change Within The Food Industry’!

We’re going to be celebrating some of our #FoodHeroScot winners, the sustainability heroes in our communities who are prioritising people and the planet over profit, and will also enjoy a short series of screenings that show that change is happening for the better, from farm to fork, and the many industries in between. The screening will be followed by a panel, led by some of our co-founding partners and winning Food Heroes, discussing how business is and must increasingly play a major role in transforming our food systems.

Our event is part of ‘Recipes for Resilience’, a 12-day Food and Climate event series during COP26, hosted by @nourishscotland (together with an impressive selection of partners such as @foodtank @wwf @theoriginalvegansociety @beyondmeat and many more, including one of our #FoodHeroScot Phase B nominees, @scotlandthebread !) The series will highlight the importance of food systems within climate conversation, through a dynamic variety of panels, screenings, hands-on events and community engagement.

We can’t wait, and we hope to see you there!! Due to COVID capacity, you must have a ticket to attend the event in-person. 🎟️ You can register for free in-person and livestream tickets, and also find out more about our event, the ‘Recipes for Resilience’ series, and all the other great foodie things happening at @cop26uk via the link in our bio! ♻️

We are excited to support the launch of a new non-profit campaign to place sustainability at the heart of Scottish Food & Drink.

As a Scottish chocolate manufacturer we work with local suppliers whenever it is possible and try our best to support the local community. We were delighted to be approached by #FoodHeroScot campaign organisers and are excited to become ambassadors of this fantastic campaign, alongside like-minded Scottish brands that share our values and commitment to sustainability ♥️🍫
