@prettyokay_ and I have been studying together, working together, surfing together, making things, camping and having a pretty bloody good time along the way.

She’s not only a sick surfer, but also such an amazing artist with the most creative little brain. Her taste is annoyingly good, and she somehow always comes up with ideas that make me go, ohhh yep, that’s way better than what I was thinking. 😂

Feeling pretty lucky to have this legend by my side, dreaming up all sorts of things for Atmosea, making beautiful stuff together and somehow managing to squeeze in a few waves between all the chaos.

I think that’s what I love most about Atmosea. It’s never really just been about the wetsuits and clothes. It’s all the friendships, the making, the creating, the silly ideas, the ocean and the people you get to share it all with.

More waves, more creative chaos and more days like these, please.

Northern Rivers designer and artist Bri O'Connell creates work that moves between soft sculpture, painting and making by hand.

Drawn to everyday objects and the memories and meaning we attach to them, Bri remakes familiar forms in fabric, using softness, humour and a deliberately handmade finish to shift the way they are seen.

Her work embraces the evidence of making, hand stitching, problem solving and slightly wonky details that keep each piece feeling human. Recent works draw on coastal life, nostalgia, leisure and those ordinary moments that become important over time.

Bri's work 'Capri Lifestyle' is on display in our current exhibition 'More Salt Please', on at Lone Goat Gallery until 12 Sept.

Our new exhibition, More Salt Please, brings together six Northern Rivers artists whose practices are shaped, directly and indirectly, by life near the water.

Featuring Filippa Edghill, Sean Leonard, Nat McComas, Bri O’Connell, Cassandra Scott-Finn and Sam Steinhauer, the exhibition spans photography, painting, film and sculpture.

Curated in collaboration with IMMI Contemporary, More Salt Please is a vibrant and thought-provoking group exhibition exploring our connections to water, place and the coastal landscape.

We love our Artists
Creativity is foundational to Atmosea.

Through our retail space, we host five artist exhibitions each year, offering a dedicated platform for artists to share their work with the community.

We are fortunate to be able to provide this space without the upfront costs that often come with exhibiting in traditional gallery settings. For us, it’s one way of supporting the artists who continue to shape surf culture and creative communities around us.

Alongside exhibitions, we regularly collaborate with artists on limited-edition prints and collections.
