Did I tell you how I was always anxious around my birthday coming up every year, for the longest time?

No?

We'll, let's go then....

On a surface level, money was scarce in the family.

And every year as the birthday approached, the thought of giving a treat would definitely build around some worry in the back of the head.

On a much deeper level tho...

With how my childhood was...

I didn't grow up with a lot of love.

Scolding, screaming, hitting, abandonment, emotional abuse, crossing emotional boundaries, parents fighting, separating, being sent away at the age of 5 to a boarding school after all of this had deep effects.

Not being able to accept love and attention was one of them.

As a result, the most dreaded experience for me was cutting the cake on my birthday.

Where everyone would be singing "Happy Birthday" and I'd just have to stand there awkwardly with a knife in my hand...

Not knowing what to do, just waiting to cut the cake.

All of the attention, and expressions of love and care was something never felt before.

And that would leave me exposed.

Exposed to the feelings of not being good enough for this.

Not feeling like I deserve the love right now.

Or even feeling like all of this is fake.

In 2017, things started to change.

I starting doing inner work and working to resolve unhealed childhood trauma.

2018 onwards, this was resolved.

Now, I could stand and take in all the love my friends and family would throw at me, without doubting them or myself.

It was amazing. And has been throughout.

This is what my work with High Worth Cycle is about as well. Helping you achieve the same.

On my birthday last week, it was hands down one of the happiest experiences of the year.

And shows how far I've come.

Being able to witness the love, and be present to it, let it in was amazing.

Had my closest friends there.

Some weren't, but that's okay.

And some just fell out over the years.

That's okay as well.

Everyone is on their own journey, and that's where sometimes your paths diverge.

To 120 more years on this planet with the best of people and epic adventures.

Love, ❤️
Kshitij.
