3 DAYS UNTIL OPENING!

Join us this Saturday August 22nd as Where Walls Meet Sky opens inside the transformed interior of St. Anne’s Anglican Church, with an opening reception from 1 - 3pm! Everyone is welcome.

One of the exhibition’s most unique projects is Sacha Bassil’s Bricks to Bread, a temporary wood-fired oven built from bricks recovered from the fire-damaged church.

On Saturdays and Sundays (except Sept 5th & 6th) from 12 - 4pm throughout the run of the exhibition these salvaged materials will be transformed into a source of warmth, nourishment, and gathering as Sacha bakes and shares Lebanese style flatbread with visitors. A work about transformation in its truest sense: turning remnants of destruction into an act of hospitality.

To celebrate the opening of the exhibition, we're thrilled to present Vita Contemplativa, a free evening of experimental music curated by Fan Wu. Exploring contemplation as both patient receptivity and disciplined attention, the program features performances by Sufferin Mall, Colby Richardson, and Felicity Williams with Robin Dann, Dorothea Paas, and Patrick O'Reilly.
📅 Saturday, August 22, 8:00 PM doors open

Happy first day of spring! I’ve been very behind on posting anything to instagram this winter. So here’s some photos from two weeks ago when we were in LA for a few days!

Shot on a borrowed Minolta CLE 35mm Rangefinder camera, on Kodak #Portra160 developed at @c41filmlabs on Sterling Road.

Feeling optimistic for whats to come, shine ☀️👌#palm #palmtrees #la #hollywood #blueskys #california

Last year we were fortunate to present an excerpt of 'no place' during our bike tour and are excited to see the next iteration this week as a part of @summerworksto! Whether you were lucky to join us on the bike tour or not, we urge you to get tickets to this beautiful work before they're gone!

Presented in a grassy hydro corridor, 'no place' was choreographed and directed by Amanda Acorn and performed and created with Matt Smith, Ann Trépanier and Bee Pallomina. This iteration of the project, adapted for our bike tour, was an excerpt of a full length work in development for 5 dancers. The work explores the body in dialogue with the more than human world, and considers the notion of utopia as an emergent, embodied practice and an evolving relationship to space and place.

no place at Summerworks
August 5-7th
Location: outdoors on the waterfront, to be revealed before the performance
Link to tickets in bio.
