VERTICAL POWER: THE WORK STARTS ON THE GROUND. A bigger jump starts with producing force against the ground, then controlling the landing. This jump variation limits the arm swing so the focus stays on lower-body effort and repeatable execution. Our cues: push the ground, finish tall, and land under control. Quality first. For volleyball and basketball, strength and power work can support the physical demands of jumping. Approach timing, ball skills and game decisions still need sport practice. The progression should fit the athlete’s training experience and current workload. Parents: ask your athlete what today’s jump work was meant to improve. Save this for that conversation. 💥 ROTATIONAL POWER SHOWS UP ON THE FIELD. Coach Sabrina breaks down one of our staples — Med Ball Rainbow Slams — and why we use them with our athletes. Think about a softball or baseball player swinging, throwing, or pitching, or a lacrosse player shooting and passing. Those movements require athletes to create force through the ground, transfer it through the hips and trunk, and express it through the upper body. That’s why we train rotational power. 🔄💥 We’re not just throwing medicine balls around. There’s a purpose behind the exercise and coaching behind every rep. Different sports. Same need to produce and transfer force. 📍 Destin + Niceville 🎯 FREE Athlete Assessment / Training Session 🌐 foundations850.com 📲 850-543-6016 #foundations850 #coachsabrina #rotationalpower #baseballtraining #softballtraining

💥 Big hurdle jumps aren’t just about seeing how high an athlete can jump. There’s a purpose behind them. We use this drill to teach athletes to produce force quickly, become more explosive off the ground, and develop the power that carries over to sprinting, jumping, cutting, and competing. The key is progression. We don’t just throw an athlete in front of a big hurdle and hope for the best. We earn our way there through proper landing mechanics, force production, stiffness, and lower-level plyometrics first. Anybody can pick a drill. Knowing WHY, WHEN, and HOW to use it is coaching. That’s what we take pride in at Foundations 850. — Coach Tylor 👊 📍 Destin + Niceville 🎯 Free Athlete Assessment / Training Session 🌐 foundations850.com 📲 850-543-6016 #foundations850 #coachtylor #powerdevelopment #athletedevelopment #sportsperformance

🔥 GREAT COACHING ISN’T JUST PICKING DRILLS — IT’S UNDERSTANDING WHY THEY MATTER. Athletes rarely run perfectly straight in competition. That’s why we teach linear, curve, and arc running—helping athletes understand how to accelerate, manage body position, redirect force, and maintain speed through different movement paths. ⚡ 🏈 Pursuit & route running ⚽ Creating and closing space ⚾🥎 Base running & fielding 🏀 Transition & defensive movement 🥍 Dodging & pursuit The drill is only a tool. The coaching is what makes the difference. At Foundations 850, we don’t just set up cones and tell athletes to run. We teach, correct, cue, and progress movement with purpose. That level of coaching is what separates us. 👊 📍 Destin + Niceville 🎯 FREE Athlete Assessment / Training Session 🌐 www.foundations850.com 📲 850-543-6016 #foundations850 #coachtylor #speeddevelopment #athletedevelopment #sportsperformance

⚡ FAST ATHLETES HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO STOP. Our Accelerate → Stick drill may look simple, but there’s a lot happening underneath it. We’re teaching athletes to create force and accelerate aggressively—then decelerate, absorb force and control their body before the next movement. Why does that matter? Research consistently connects sprint acceleration, braking ability and propulsive force with change-of-direction performance. Recent biomechanical reviews also highlight horizontal force orientation during acceleration and high braking demands during deceleration. 🏈 Make the cut. ⚽ Close space. 🏀 Stop and redirect. 🥎 Get to the ball. We don’t just run drills. We coach the qualities behind them. That’s the difference between keeping athletes busy and developing athletes. 🎯 Want your athlete coached—not just worked out? 📍 Destin + Niceville 🌐 www.foundations850.com 📲 850-543-6016 #foundations850 #coachtylor #speeddevelopment #athletedevelopment #sportsperformance

🔥 THE DIFFERENCE IS IN THE COACHING. Anyone can put together a workout. Our job is to COACH the athlete. We teach. We correct. We encourage. We challenge. And we hold athletes accountable to a standard. 💪 Discipline when motivation isn’t there. 🧠 Accountability when things get hard. 📈 Coaching that develops the athlete AND the person. We’re not here just to make athletes tired. We’re here to make them better. 👊 📍 Destin + Niceville #foundations850 #coachtylor #athletedevelopment #accountability #sportsperformance
