Shouldn’t fashion be a personal choice ?

If a women gets to wear stuffs from a mens wardrobe why not a man wear stuffs from a womens wardrobe ?!

Does wearing the so called ‘feminine products’ make a guy less masculine ?

Why do we look up at women who wear things from a mens wardrobe and call them bold while we look down at guys who wear something decorative and colourful and assume that they are not straight ?

So are we still looking down at femininity and looking up at masculinity?

In olden days kings used to wear colourful clothes, wear a bindi get ducked up with jewellery and walk with pride. Why the modern guys are not able to carry themselves like that ?

These are a few questions among many which I have been thinking from the day I started this project.
I created products inspired from @chilaburmin who is a British artist with an Indian aesthetic to all her works.

During the process I realised most of the materials I used were products used only by women. Like bindis, chumkis, fresh flowers and many more. I was looking for women models to model for my products. And then I started to introspect why didn’t I think of men when I made the products and ended up coming up with questions I mentioned above.

This project has been a wonderful journey which had its own ups and downs. From material sourcing to finding a guy model I learnt a lot about the people around me.

When I explained the shoot to my 54 year old watchman he was very accepting about the concept but alot of young guys were not for it. The question is are we really open minded in this modern world ?

Break the dress code for men.

What it is to be a man ?
