These are the actors that will depict the dualities of wrath and hope with the monologues they’ve chosen. Very excited to showcase their passion in my own way and support them throughout the whole journey!

$I am honored to present my new work “Tremors” as part of the Purchase Dance Company Fall ‘25 Concert! On a night out when I was feeling shaken by the repressive regime we are under right now, but resolute on the power of aesthetics, my friend Shalewa reminded me of Nikki Giovanni’s poem “For Saundra.” I've incorporated that poem into this new work, which asks: How do we make art in times like these? Initially imagined as something purely beautiful, the piece is shaped instead by the unavoidable interruptions, both personal and global, that fracture our lives on a daily basis. Set to the music of Nina Simone and Jon Batiste, the work becomes a meditation on resilience, collective care, and the quiet, vital act of showing up for one another when the world feels unsteady. Shout-out to my dear friend @goodnblack , to the amazing Aryanna Allen @aryannnaaa for acting as rehearsal assistant for this piece, to Purchase Conservatory of Dance director Darrah Carr @darrahcarrdance for the generous invitation to make new work, and to the lovely PDC students for your commitment and artistry! ✨Come see this program y’all!
