“The festival in da back is over with?”

“…it’s over back there. but the festival right here in front of 318 Dorset…
It’s just getting STARTED!”

I’m tremendously grateful for the time I got to spend with these wonderful artists. Throughout the process of bringing ‘The Festival in Da Back’ to life, I felt like I experienced growth so many different ways. Not only did I become a better actor, but I also learned about what my body needs throughout a rehearsal process. Practice makes progress!

Thank you to all of the folks who came out to support the show. I felt all the love that one could hope for!

Special shout out to my behind the scenes crew who don’t get the onstage love that us actors do, my incredible castmates, as well as our writer @brianartworld and director @nckash .

Bringing “Ola” to life onstage has been a true honor. Thank you so much! ❤️

Last Friday I invited some of my favorite people in New York to listen some songs I’ve been working on. Played 10 songs from my heart, along with my fav cover and a song led by Cameron. Definitely one of my favorite nights in the city.

Thanks @cameronmiya for killing it on stage, thank you @princess_cheeese for working the show, @manu_suje for the pictures, and @hopechurchnyc and Jordan for allowing me to use the space.

Thank you EVERYONE who took their precious Friday nights to seek community and hear me out. The warmest way to welcome the holidays. Enjoy friends, enjoy family. See u guys soon :)

Weekend activities. 🎬🎥

Hip Hop Film Festival + Ezra & Chi Summer Social + Hope Church Rooftop Event

= A VERY busy weekend

Thanks to director @mikelamarbrown I got a chance to attend the Hip Hop Film Festival this Saturday, and it was a blast! I had such a wonderful time watching the documentary “I Was The Weirdo” which documents the history of rap in Washington DC brought to us by the OG Priest Da Nomad. I also stuck around to see an incredibly moving documentary about “Sammus” Enongo directed by Kevin Schreck; Sammus is an incredible multidisciplinary artist and musician with a doctorate from Cornell University! These were the documentaries’ world premieres and they definitely deserve follows for future news/updates.

We even got an appearance from the Father of Hip Hop himself DJ Kool Herc!

Sunday brought out even more artists! Shout out to Chichi Anyanwu and @yesitsezraezzard for a dope end-of-summer networking event. So many cool connections and new people!

@hopechurchnyc had a nice young adult rooftop event as well. Glad I could make it.

Looking forward to what the rest of summer will bring. 🙏🏾
