Post Forum Art space post! So happy to have been the co director this past year with the amazing @pattiejane11

Thank to you everyone: artist, intern or audience member you made this space beautiful. This has been one of my greatest experiences here at purchase.

Special thanks to Steven Lamy for the opportunity at the Kiosk Gallery, which I will be running next semester as well as being the public art coordinator, so hit me up for any inquiries for either!

Have a wonderful summer and keep creating art! Peace

Collaboration in the printshop on so many levels! New leather rollers (🤩) being tended to by our amazing shop tech team of @ianharkeu supported by @theprintedlamb and @maeshapirostudio. On press litho troubleshooting. And a cool handmade paper experiment by @bunniesdoodles from last semester’s casting workshop with SR LeJeune.

It was so nice to be back in the printshop after so many snow days keeping us out early in the semester.

The Forum Art Space presents Doodles; Boners and Cowboys by Nikki Salvestrini and Maddison Beaz

Reception: Thursday March 5th
On view: March 4th-March 8th

Maddie and Nikki seek to utilize the larger wall space by painting “doodles” and large “sketches” to emphasize the work. This is to better play with not only the space but also to show their love for drawings, because all works of art start with a sketch. Our sketchbooks will be included in the show, and there will be a black book for people to put their sketches and stickers in. Beyond the gallery show, there will be a screening of Brokeback Mountain during the reception at 7pm.

Please email forumartspacepurchase@gmail.com for accommodations

Okay yall it's officially end of show speech time. This year's show has honestly been one of my best performance experiences ever. We managed to bring a show together in spite of everything going on around us and we managed to do it all with minimal infighting😭😭

This is deadass I think my favorite cast I've ever performed with and the fact that we got as close as we've gotten as quickly as we've gotten is amazing. I love you guys so fucking much💜 We bring out the best in eachother and we can always be ourselves around eachother which is super fucking important in a friendgroup. You guys also help me feel so much more comfortable with myself. Yall are so encouraging of every aspect of me and I feel comfortable enough around yall to be myself, even though that's sometimes a bad thing😭😭

For me personally this show helped me come out of my shell. Having to do salsa and hip hop dances really pushed me out of my comfort zone and I'm so glad it did because now I know that I really am an amazing dancer and that no style of dance is truly impossible. It also forced me into a role of authority, which, as much as I enjoyed it, made me realize that being in charge kinda sucks when you gotta use force.

Anyways, I love you all so much and I can't wait to see where our futures take us, so long as we stick together through it all💜💜💜
