Our amazing volunteers have been hanging baby grows that spell out ‘Clean Air Now’ in some of the areas of London that are in breach of World Health Organization air pollution guideline levels. We are highlighting the scale of respiratory problems amongst the youngest children in London. Our Freedom of Information requests have revealed that across 22 London hospitals surveyed, more than 15,000 children under five were admitted with serious breathing difficulties in 2023. Across England as a whole, 15,328 children aged 19 or under were admitted into hospital for serious asthma attacks alone, according to Public Health England figures from 2022/23. For London, the figure is 2,705. We are calling for England to be diesel-free by 2030, action on wood burning and resources and funding for School Streets across the country. Join us as we #Vote4CleanAir tomorrow. Thank you to all the volunteers and photographers involved. 📷: Patty Gambini, Chris Harvey, Tom Price, Ray Malone, Crispin Hughes, Oasis Ryeland, Jonathan Goldberg, Rebecca Lupton. #AirPollution #CleanAir #ToxicAir #AirQuality #Health #CleanAirZone #SchoolStreets #Idling #ActiveTravel #Walking #Cycling #Scooting #Schools #Woodburning #Woodsmoke #Woodburner #WoodburningStove #Campaigning #ClimateCrisis #DitchDiesel #Diesel #MumsForLungs #LowEmission #Transport #TransportEmissions #FossilFuels #EndFossilFuels #London
