googoosh // thesis outtakes

These are from a lighting test I was doing for my Googoosh look. The second image was an accidental overexposure, but I ended up loving how it turned out. These were shot very early in my process, when I was still learning medium format and getting comfortable with the camera. I have fell in love with the process of film since then :)

The first of many for my “Belly Dancers on Film” series🌹

I started taking belly dance classes earlier this year, and since then, it has felt like my world has been colored in with such vibrance and magic. I’ve been continuously inspired by the beauty, strength, and individuality of every dancer I’ve met and danced with in my classes.

What started as a class has introduced me to such a warm, generous, and loving community. I’m grateful to be learning, moving, and creating alongside these incredible women, and I hope to capture even a little of the magic they bring with them.

Thank you to @emiliabellydancer for believing in me, and helping me bring this vision to life, while sharing so much of her own creativity and artistry in making this.
