On my birthday weekend some (awesome) friends and I went to a volunteer run cat cafe. All of the money to enter or buy treats goes directly to the cats (all up for adoption) as well as the rent to keep the location open. We grabbed tea afterwards. I’m so thankful to have so many wonderful people in my life, including multiple who were available in NYC that day.

Flushing outings ✧˖°
We got the Prince Fruit Paradise tea at 50% sugar, which wasn’t too sweet and showed a nice blend of the fruity flavors. Such a nice teapot design as well. The white blossom and watermelon sugar were both mocktails, yet the former was the only drink with caffeine. The watermelon’s flavor was definitely stronger compared to the latter, but both were especially cooling on a hot day. The sweet potato fries had a nice natural sweetness that wasn’t too greasy nor salty. Good to pick at, especially when sharing with the table. The turkey club was just as satisfying and filling, but the salad was a bit wilted. We thought the mayo inside didn’t have as much flavor, and the sauce used for the shrimp lollipops would’ve been better. Speaking of which, they were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They were the favorite of the afternoon and we’d definitely order them again. It wasn’t too crowded when we went, overall a nice place for sharing tea and catching up with others!

@princeteahouse is like school cafeteria food!! I was shocked! I went in to treat my sons to afternoon tea only to find out they no longer offer it, their only food was waffles and sandwhiches (wonderbread, a protone, lettuce and tomato), and even the apps didn’t make sense! We ordered the fried squid and it came with ketchup- even though the image showed otherwise. It was thickly coated and tasted powdery. As someone who’s gone to Prince Tea house in Manhattan many times, and loved it. This was such a disgusting experience especially with the black mold above our heads.

Location to avoid 8510 21st Avenue
Slow service, old and torn furniture, mold all over ceiling and in vents, no afternoon tea, only good thing was tea and dessert
