Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) recently hosted its Superintendent’s A&S (Administrative & Supervisory) Meeting, featuring two prominent speakers: former NFL quarterback and activist Colin Kaepernick and Anurupa Ganguly, founder of Prisms of Reality. The event, which MCPS described as “on fire,” was designed to inspire and challenge school leaders. Kaepernick, a well-known voice for social justice, addressed the leaders with a message of “challenging systems and championing justice.” Alongside Kaepernick, Anurupa Ganguly shared her vision for the future of education. As the founder of Prisms of Reality, she is at the forefront of a movement to revolutionize K-16 STEM learning by making it more “equitable and immersive” for all students. Her company utilizes virtual reality to help students grasp complex math and science concepts through embodied, real-world experiences. Ganguly, an MIT-trained engineer turned educator, is a strong advocate for a new learning paradigm that leverages technology to create a more engaging and effective classroom experience. Biology, but make it VR! Our students strapped on their headsets and stepped inside the world of biology—no lab coats needed! From cells to systems, they explored it all in 360° style. Huge shoutout to Ms. Stimphil & Ms. Collins’ classes for diving headfirst into science and showing us how it’s done! Who knew learning about DNA could feel like a sci-fi adventure? Next stop: the mitochondria (aka the powerhouse of the cell)! #BiologyInVR #ScienceIsCool #FutureScientists #VRinTheClassroom #MsStimphil #MsCollins #NextGenSTEM 🧬🧠🔬💡🎮

🤯 Math and Science just got a VR upgrade! Our One Team recently got hands-on training with Prisms - a virtual reality tool that lets students physically move around and engage with math & science concepts in a whole new way. Our teachers are going wild for it! “This is fantastic...It honestly has me very excited to try and get back to the school. I’m already planning lessons!” raved one teacher after testing it out. Another called it “monumental” and said it would’ve been a game-changer when she was a student struggling to see how math applied to the real world. With Prisms, students won’t just crunch numbers - they’ll use VR to solve actual real-world problems through movement, visuals, and hands-on learning. Teachers say students will be so immersed and entertained they won’t even realize how much they’re learning! One middle school teacher summed it up perfectly: “The kids are going to LOVE this!” 😍
