🔴 Trendsetter Thank you to @prissperry for adding this in your collection. Created in 2024 in my Brooklyn studio. Trendsetter is part of my Oak Cliff series where I painted childhood friends and our experiences growing up in the Dallas neighborhood affectionately known as Oak Cliff. “IYKYK” I love to see the provenance journey of my pieces. Through exhibitions she’s traveled to Brooklyn, East Hampton, Charlottesville, VA, New Orleans, LA, Morris Township, NJ, Montclair, NJ , Dallas, Tx only to be shipped back to Brooklyn and shipped back to Dallas. This painting and the stories of each musical genius belongs with Crystal Perry and May the stories and legacy live on. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

A Silver Star 💕💚🩶✨ Cannot believe that 25 years have passed since I joined this illustrious sisterhood @akasorority1908 💕💚 on the campus of Southern Methodist University @smu_akas. This past weekend, @jarieantoinette and I were honored for 25 years of service by our dear @alphaxiomega29 chapter in front of over 1500 attendees and we spent the entire weekend celebrating- honoree reception, formal luncheon, and a framily brunch. This organization has benefitted my life from family members who have poured into me and the foundational lessons it has taught me. Most importantly it has blessed me with some of the closest relationships and sisters that one could ask for. Indeed, from the outside looking in you can’t understand it and from the inside looking out, you can’t explain it. In this day and age of denouncing and renouncing 👀, I can testify that God has used Alpha Kappa Alpha to show me Him, draw me near, and make me better.
