Today is Giving Tuesday, but everyone deserves kindness every day, and there are always even small ways to be giving and kind❣️

At our last park cleanup in October, our volunteers all reflected on ways we can spread more positivity and kindness in our daily lives. We challenged ourselves to take the little extra time and effort to show up kindly for the world around us in every moment going forward, which includes acts of self-love (it is kind to fill one's own cup to even begin giving to others)❣️

Before the year ends, do you have any resolutions on how you can also spread and encourage kindness more?
Are there any shared here by our volunteers that you relate to more or may see yourself using?

It's Giving Tuesday and we're highlighting our last park cleanup we hosted in October, when a group of us came together to give back to our community and environment❣️
We thank all the volunteers who came out that day, to our past cleanups, and everyone who also wished to join and who sent us well wishes throughout it all❣️

It was evident that people were making use of the last bit of warm weather because there was quite a lot of piles of garbage littered around the park. Our volunteers were amazing and helped clean a lot of it, with bright smiles and laughs the whole time❣️

We had a special treat for everyone as well afterward where the volunteers played a trivia game to win prizes. We asked questions about Jack Darling Memorial Park, pertinent to our time cleaning up, such as:
What important wetland is situated adjacent to this park (and is a huge reason we chose to adopt this park)?
Comment below if you know the answer.

Swipe through the slides to see more of the trivia fun (turn the volume up to hear)❣️
Also, a special thank you to @canalgyaltaal for showing kindness in the form of positive vibrations (literally) and singing to the caterpillars (last slide)❣️

We hope you enjoyed this year's cleanups and posts❣️
And we hope to offer more opportunities to clean up our precious local green spaces in 2026❣️

See the next post for more KIND content from October's cleanup🥰

The park and shoreline cleanup we hosted earlier this month was so rewarding, productive, and fun as always❣️
Thank you to our volunteers who were so diligent in picking up as much litter as they could, while also taking some dance breaks (seen in the previous post)❣️

This time, we asked our volunteers to share some of the more uncommon or strange items they cleaned up.
Besides the answers they gave in these videos, other items cleaned (especially on the beach) included tiny medicine pills, floss picks, confetti pieces, and an abundance of microplastics.

Story time: We also found a child's sand scooping toy, which we were able to rehome to be Reused by passing it along to a mother and child who were playing on the beach at the time and were happy to have it.

It was a special moment, seeing as this interaction sparked the child to ask many questions about what we were doing..."why were we picking up garbage? Why don't other people clean their garbage? Can we help pick up garbage, too?"
And, it was encouraging to hear the supportive answers from the mother.

It goes to show that good and bad habits, even regarding environmental stewardship, begin in these formative years of a child's life when they're soaking in all the knowledge they can and looking to others around them who mould and model their world.

And along with directly improving the environment's condition by cleaning the park, we also directly saw how it impacts and inspires others around us.
It's a great "natural" community builder❣️

It makes us so happy to see the difference we can make with these cleanups, and we hope you can join in as well for our next one coming soon❣️

We need each other...

It's as simple as that.

Spaces that welcome you as you are. Where there's no need to perform. Where we reconnect to what makes us human.

Feeling seen, heard, and validated.

We're in times where grounding will be needed more than ever. Where we will need the reminders that good exists in the world. It does, despite what you see on your screens.

Community is lifeblood.

Do not lose faith in the good. It exists within you.

Who are the people you can turn to? The ones who truly SEE you and hold space for all of who you are? Where you don't need to self-abandon to belong, and you're reminded of your worth and wholeness? Where you never have to worry about what will be said about you when you walk away?

Find those spaces. Cherish them. Give thanks for them.

Another session of Heart-to-Heart Networking took place yesterday, and we dove into feminine essence with the gifted Prachi Rathaur of @rathaurportraits. Our next meeting is happening on Friday, March 28th, and will be featuring Nelin Krull of @myofascialmississauga, who will share her wisdom about how trauma sits in the body.

Join us! Full details at link in bio. ❤️❤️

Heart-felt community is medicine...

Creating spaces of genuine connection is what these times call for.

We're not machines. We're not apps and tech.

We're humans. We're meant to connect heart-to-heart.

Our first meeting of Heart-to-Heart Networking took place this morning. This was different from other networking groups.

There was vulnerability.
Voices were heard.
Hearts were filled.

Women came together to inspire and uplift each other in safety and support.

Real talk... the "sisterhood wound" is a real thing. Like most women, I've experienced it from women close to me. Some who will read this.

Life can be hard for women in many ways already, but we don't want to talk about how women make it hard for other women with catty behaviour, gossip, cutting down, and bullying.

The health of our present and future will require building community, free of Mean Girls' behaviour. We have enough coming at us from the bigger world. How about we take responsibility and create what will advance us further rather than what will keep us stuck?

Today's gathering was birthed from a vision and intuitive guidance. Trust yourself and your inner guidance. Take steps from that place and then witness what comes into being.

Thank you to @chocolateandlovemississauga for hosting us! 💗
