Unbelievably cool to see @chasingamydoc featured at @kanopy’s Video Headquarters activation at the Sundance Legacy party with this fun, custom VHS packaging for the video store. It gives a guy ideas about doing a limited VHS run! 👀

🎄 Christmas has come early at Screen Queens! 🎄

As an early Christmas present, we're excited to announce our first screening of 2026:

CHASING CHASING AMY (2023)
+ Q&A with Director Sav Rodgers

Mon 2nd Feb 2026 @ 7:00pm

Phoenix, Leicester

"On a quest to understand how a divisive LGBTQ+ ‘90s rom-com saved his life, a filmmaker is confronted with truths that will ultimately shape who he becomes.

CHASING CHASING AMY explores the transformational impact of a ‘90s rom-com on a 12 year old kid from Kansas, coming of age and contending with queer identity. For young Sav Rodgers, the Kevin Smith cult classic, CHASING AMY, became a life raft. As Rodgers examines the film and its making as a cornerstone of LGBTQ+ cinema, he finds himself at a complicated crossroads."

This is an incredibly heartfelt and insightful documentary that highlights the importance of queer representation, while confronting the dichotomy between the problematic aspects of Smith's project and the comfort it can still bring.

With @savrodgersfilm joining via Zoom for a Q&A, this is a great chance to watch this moving documentary and ask your burning questions about the picture!

We had an amazing open and real conversation about his film and then he surprised us with exclusive signed merch from Chasing Chasing Amy. We are so honored to call Sav a local filmmaker.

You can find and watch his film on Amazon Prime, Tubing, Philo, and more

Also, check out his new project Pancake Skank (tagged).

Thank you Sav for sharing your knowledge and experience ❤️🙏

Hey, friends. Good news: I’m writing and directing a new film! Yes, it’s the answer to the perennial, “what are you doing next?” question at every Q&A!!!

It’s called Pancake Skank. It’s a surreal, fucksticks sci-fi friendship comedy set in a World of Almost Always Nighttime. My closest friends and collaborators can tell you I’ve been pouring a ton of energy into this for the last year: seeking out collaborators, planning overnight shoots, and finding resources to make the damn thing the best version of what it can be. It has accelerated my male-pattern hair loss (thoughts and prayers appreciated !) and has been worth every second.

Now, here’s the vulnerable part: we’re running a crowdfunding campaign on @seedandspark starting next Monday, September 29th. We have an AMAZING cast and crew (more on that soon), and I’m looking pay every single of ‘em. We’re going to make a kick-ass, fun movie that’ll make you laugh and feel something, and we want you to be part of our team.

If you dug the last film we made, help us make this one. And if you watched @chasingamydoc and thought, “Cool whatever, but I want to see a movie with pancakes,” then this one is REALLY for you. 🥞

Feel free to DM/comment/send a carrier pigeon if you want to learn more. Otherwise, sign up for my newsletter so you can support on Day 1. It’s gonna be a fun one—with kick-ass incentives made by @thefrenchdipdesign!!

OK, that’s all. Protect your peace this week and be good to one another!!! A slate that says, “Pancake Skank” directed by Sav Rodgers and cinematography by John Beatty.

The @spacestationnyc team is fortunate to reach such great heights with @chasingamydoc and our friends at @proampro, @mamafilmhq, @level33entertainment and many other organizations, companies and beautiful humans. Awards season is upon us and to be nominated for a @glaad Media Award for Outstanding Documentary is truly an honor. I am incredibly proud of our fearlessly fearful @savrodgersfilm, whose soft-as-hell approach has taught me so many things these last few years. To all involved, my heartfelt thanks will never quite convey my feelings. My heart is so full. I love you all. #glaad #media #awards #therealylt documentary #film #movies #indie

This is a @sisicronin appreciation post! Thanks to the incredible talent of Publicist Extraordinaire, Sicily Cronin, our film @chasingamydoc was featured in so many publications, web sites, socials and podcasts. She even managed to throw in a few radio & television situations. I first met Sicily when @bcstern insisted we bring her on to handle late stage PR for her amazing doc, @wellgroomedmovie. The impact Sicily made on that movie was palpable. When it came time to hire a publicist for Chasing Chasing Amy, I knew exactly who to hire. She impressed our Director, @savrodgersfilm and our whole producing team immediately. When our @tribeca premiere came around, Sicily was a force of nature. We got hundreds and hundreds of impressions from that week. Some of the reviews and features were beyond dreamy. @variety @deadline @hammertonail @people @entertainmentweekly @collider @filmthreat & so many more. I swear we made the biggest press splash of any Tribeca ‘23 documentary. Our festival run continued for another year and a half, with each feature bringing more press opportunities. Sicily handled each one with kid gloves, pulling in more reviews, features and interviews than we could have possibly imagined. We owe our @rottentomatoes Certified Fresh designation The rollout continued during our theatrical and VOD releases. I have rarely seen someone pull off so much with so little. Sicily Cronin is a megawatt superstar. If your movie is in need of a publicist (looking at you #sundance 2025 filmmakers) look no further. You’ve found the one. I love you to the moon and back, Sicily. I am eternally grateful for your devoted friendship and exceptional PR acumen. I look forward to many more films and projects together. 🎥🍿🎬❤️😍

CHASING CHASING AMY is coming to MOVIE THEATERS!

It’s my genuine pleasure to share that @chasingamydoc has been acquired by @level33entertainment. We’re coming to theaters, a virtual streaming window with @kinomakesmovies, VOD, and physical media later this year.

As you can imagine, I’m having A LOT of big feelings about this.

All I can say is thank you. Thank you to every single person who gave their time to help us make this movie and share it with the world: strangers, acquaintances, friends, crew, participants, film festival organizers, people who came to see it at a festival, people who have been following the journey for nearly six years. It all made a difference. And it made it possible for us to usher this film into the world.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Please come to the movies—and bring a friend or two—when we come out in theaters later this year. ❤

Unreal. I LOVE YOU, FELIX MCNEIL was selected for the inaugural #PGACreate cohort. Thank you so much to the @producersguild for this incredible honor. I get to produce the script of my dreams (co-written by me with the magnificent @taylor_gates_) with my dream collaborator, @anderfinn! Thanks for taking a chance on our fantastical trans boyhood film. 🤩

EDIT: We changed the title back to I Love You, Margot Robbie. High risk, high reward, baby!!
