POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Y’all. Bringing my baby down south in this North Carolina debut in the state that raised me at the beloved @ashevillefilmfestival surrounded by family - chosen & blood, friends- old and new, and connecting with this incredible community both of local & international filmmakers and filmlovers at this fest was absoluteeee m a g i c !!!!! Felt like home💖🥹🎞️😭🏔️😍💐🧚

These mountains and its people are sacred and shaped so much of who I am and part of the soul of the nature and freedom embodied in the film.🍃🌀

The opening night screening in this historic gorgeous 2 story theatre was aliveee full with people, heart, + art. ♥️ And we were amongst such amazing & emotionally moving films - honored .🤍 It was deeply spirit-filling witnessing the continued power of how many people resonated with our film, messages, artistic style, crying, laughing, gasping, and loving our work like yall 😭🙂‍↕️🥹 this is my why!! The audience response was a sparkle of such delight and I got to have so many meaningful conversations w people coming up & sharing stories of how they resonated, or similar things they went through, the vulnerability, the healing, the catharsis, the inspiration and connection literally means everything to me and is my favorite, favorite part of all this. As a survivor of so much myself who knows what it’s like, if i can help even 1 person find inspiration and feel loved to keep going through the darkness, then i can sleep happy.

I have so much more to say and this doesn’t even begin to encapsulate everything, not enough room for all the photos or sharings but get ready to see more because there is SO. MUCH. MORE. + EXPANSION ALWAYS 🦋💫

Thank you so much AVL & every beautiful soul involved.

We missed beautiful @herboidani at the screening, but bebè was able to fly down for the awards ceremony hehe so stay tuned for those updates cuz it was also fuegoo🔥🔥🔥 -- where us Elle Belles frolicked and conquered these mountains and yes, came FACE2FACE with a literal giant ass BEAR oracle right before. 🐻🤯🍒

#problemista @a24
