Cool first move on the slab from the U17 simulation. The last move was super sketchy 😨

Consistency is something that is very underrated.

Sometimes life feels like we’re always running towards something — another goal, another achievement, another small feeling of success.

But how often do we actually stop and look at the achievements we’ve already gained?

Since I started climbing in a gym — which is still so new to me — my climbing style has changed a lot.

I started committing more to moves. I started feeling more confident on the wall. And, of course, that translates into my everyday life as well.

But lately, I felt like I am stuck on V4–5.

Most climbs at those grades I can already flash, but moving higher still feels HARD.

V5–6 is challenging for me, even on slabs — which are my favorite and pretty much my specialty.

And for a while, I kept wondering:

Why am I stuck?

Until one day, a thought landed on me:

I’m not stuck.

Maybe there’s just something in my climbing — or my mindset — that I need to perfect before I’m ready to move forward.

So I changed the goal.

Instead of constantly chasing the next grade, I decided to work on consistency.

I want to be able to walk up to all the V4–5s in my gym and send them on the first try.

And I’m getting closer to that goal.

Something in me finally understood that consistency is sometimes way more important than constantly achieving the next milestone.

And I think life works exactly the same way.

It’s the consistency in your actions, your choices, your practice, and the way you keep showing up that eventually brings you to the next milestone.

So right now, I’m choosing to be consistent and persistent on V4–5s.

And I know that when the time is right — and when I’m actually ready — I’ll become consistent on V5–6s too. 🧗🏻‍♀️

Do you ever feel stuck on a climbing grade? And what helps you move through it?

Tell me in the comments 🤍

And of course, the lovely outfit is from my favorite climbing shop, which I absolutely love working with. 🫶🏻
