For this edition of Are You Listening Yet?, I fell down a few very rewarding genre rabbit holes and came back with a ridiculous amount of music to recommend. This first spotlight leans into the rock, indie, and alt side of the roundup: the huge, live-ready energy of @PatrickMartin, the headbang-worthy force of @CreoleCuba, the grungy alt-rock of @StreetTampon, @maxine_michigan blend of indie rock and shoegaze, the soft, ethereal indie sound of @mreemusic, the dreamy indie/electronic pull of @proderics + @melodybloom, and the alt-folk storytelling of @SpencerHoffman. Artists like Drake & Nicki Minaj are known for implementing fake British accents to either display regional influence or play a character in the music

But artists like Lil Uzi Vert & melodybloom take that approach a little less seriously by having fun with the sound, rather than have a pinpointed purpose
