Music has always been my passion. I started as a drummer at two years old, and coming from a well-groomed musical family, true artistry and composition were marinated into my marrow. I have been performing since I could walk and singing since I could talk, but I have only sometimes been seen or heard.

For years, I sang, wrote, recorded, and arranged with and for so many other people. I imagined and produced an album with a group I formed in 2010, a project that ended up being an EP with music I wrote and produced to heal from a situation that destroyed and broke me in 2012, and many singles of creations and sounds in my brain, but never an entire album of my own.

After years of so many no’s, not right now, let’s try this first, and we can get to that later, I took matters into my own hands. Knowing what I was capable of, the resources I had, and the talent and drive I possessed, I began to build my album.

This album is a body of love that started in 2015. I took time, evaluated life and experiences to put this together. This album is my life, my ups and downs, ins and outs, but most of all, it’s me—full transparency and entirely my sound. All the sounds, rhythms, and compositions I heard growing up from family members who are well known and credited in the industry that lived inside me for years, now mixed with my own, is the recipe for this project.

With all the microwave and instant music in the airways today, it was time to return to the feeling and sound that created and birthed us all—oven music—music like Sunday dinner after church, seasoned, marinated, and slow-cooked to remember for a lifetime.

After years of not being heard, it’s time for you to hear me. Tomorrow, I happily share my album, ten years in the making, and show you who I am and what I am built of—

ENERGY AND LOVE.
