Controlmad at Rhino World 2026 in Barcelona

Today, our co-founders presented Controlmad’s educational programmes at the Rhino World Conference, sharing how we connect computational design with digital fabrication through both learning and practice.

A central focus of the presentation was G-code: its role in our courses, its application in real-world projects, and its potential to open up new approaches to fabrication.

This approach is an integral part of our G-code courses and our Master in Parametric Design & Digital Fabrication, where computational thinking meets hands-on experimentation and making.

It was a great opportunity to share our work, exchange ideas, learn from other speakers and contribute to the ongoing conversation around the possibilities of Rhino, Grasshopper, and digital fabrication.

Thank you to the Rhino World Conference and the community for making it possible.

Do you 3D model in Rhino and think Grasshopper could be useful?

In this exercise, a simple polygon becomes a parametric table, with variables controlling its shape and dimensions.

This is just one example of the kind of workflows explored in our Master in Parametric Design & Digital Fabrication, where we work with Rhino, Grasshopper and digital fabrication to develop more flexible design processes.

Turn any image into a 3D model with Grasshopper — yes, even a picture of Marc Cucurella. ⚽️

This is just one example that shows how Grasshopper can transform the way we approach 3D modeling.

Our Grasshopper Basics Course introduces the fundamentals of parametric design by navigating the tools in grasshopper and exploring more complex geometries and surfaces.

This week, our #MasterParametricDesign students had the privilege of visiting @assaadawad in his studio.

It was a particularly special experience, as Assaad welcomed us into his creative space and shared his personal journey, from his beginnings and evolution as a designer to the projects he is currently developing. Students also had the opportunity to learn about his design process, fabrication methods, and unique approach to craftsmanship and innovation.

We are very grateful for his willingness to share his story and insights with our students.
