🌻My first NCECA—it took me a full week to take it all in. What a whirlwind of inspiration, connection, and reflection. I’m super grateful to be part of 2025 Emerging Artist cohort. We did it, my dear friend! 💛💛💛@sniper_ceramica @adrenieline @michelleisolorzano @austincoudriet @ceramicnoodles 💛💛💛

Huge thanks to ✨@michelle940✨and ✨@gracehanclay✨for your support and kindness throughout this journey.

Utah’s landscape was just as inspiring as the community—The Arches, the Salt Flats, and the Spiral Jetty will stay with me forever.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating The Benton's newest exhibitions at the reception this week!

We were thrilled to host so many of Minnie Negoro's former students, including artists Denise Pelletier and Walter McConnell, whose work is featured in the exhibition, Minnie Negoro: From Heart Mountain to UConn.

Read more about the reception and the @uconndmd Faculty Exhibition in @the_dailycampus via the link in our bio and plan your visit! The museum is open Tues-Fri 10am-4pm and Sat & Sun 1-4pm.

I’m thrilled to share that I’m currently an artist-in-residence at the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) in NYC! It’s been an incredible month so far, and an honor to work alongside amazing artists @terumi_saito_ and @shradhakochhar.

You can visit my studio during open hours [Friday, 10:30–5:30]. I’d love to connect and share this experience with you. Let’s chat 😸!

This journey wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my partner and friends! A heartfelt thank you to @proffethor_p, @katyschimert, and @ratxchicks for your endless support 💛💛💛. And to my generous friends @nikakanamoto and @miranda.jang, who graciously let me stay at their place—you made this residency possible in more ways than one. Feeling deeply grateful for everything!

Stay tuned for updates on open studio days, sneak peeks, and more! 😸🫶😸

At the final moment, I cried. I always cry at endings.

Thank you to my family, friends, and professors whom I love so much. You are the reasons I had such a great four years. There were difficult times I felt I couldn’t get through, but with constant support of my people I survived and thrived. And for every bad moment there were 50 good ones. Like any 360 apartment party, the Covid picnics, my studio art classes, or the game nights in Blaustein. And while this is an ending at Conn, it is not for our connections we found with another. Thank you 💙💙🐪💙💙

This week I was back on the East Coast, partly to see family and partly to give a lil' talk to students in the Art Department at my alma mater, @conncollege.

It was such a rewarding experience to be back in Cummings where I spent so many days and nights diving into materials, connecting with other art majors and falling on love with art-making. I really miss fellow art majors from '12!!!

I also got to spend time with one of my mentors and my dear friend @proffethor_p . Denise was such a powerful presence in my life in college, pointing me to resources that opened up my world... Through her influence I dove into intersectional feminist theory, performace art and my desires/dreams. Additionally, Denise was one of the first adults who openly embraced and saw my queerness. She didn't make a big deal of it, but simply saw me for me. Her work is evocative and intriguing, and her insight when it comes to art-making is *chef's kiss* And ten years later, we're still in touch!

She invited me to speak to students about the past decade of my life, which was a fun exercise! I shared my journey and felt both seen and appreciated.

I also got to meet the incredible painter and fellow alumn @annikatucksmith :)

Thank you Conn for having me back!

Have you been in touch with your mentors lately? ♥️✨♥️
