“The Late Walter Greene’s Last High Fashion Viewing”. Yesterday we laid to rest the Fabulous Mr. Walter Greene. With powerful reflection lead by Harriette Cole we gather by the microphone to follow her lead and share how important Walter was to us all. He gave a level of visibility to the Black and Brown diaspora unmatched by others. He understood the power of the pen and documented many who were often overlooked in the mainstream industry. He was charitable and gather us together to raise funds for The Mustard Seeds Community, an organization dedicated to aid the underserved children of Jamaica. And he asked me personally to help with the First Black Dress Exhibit and I did make-up, hair and styling on #supermodel Nykhor for the Pratt exhibit filmed by Carrie Mae Weems. I was happy to be asked by Donna Dove to style Walter Greene for his final “High Fashion Viewing” with a beautiful tuxedo and my personal accessories… as she made one of his iconic dress shirt designs. I will miss our biannual fashion weeks dinners as we reflected over the season’s new frocks and gossiped like we were school girls lol! When Sonny @besteverfoodreviewshow (producer and host of Best Ever Food Review Show) reached out to me about his vision to cover a story in The Bahamas, I was definitely on board and very excited as well. (I mean, an international platform to talk about my country and food, definitely a win win.) But what I did not know at that time was how this story that was birth from my meetings with Sonny, carried a high level of importance and opened the door for the conversations about the 'Plural Culture', about Bahamians embracing the subculture of the various nationalities here on our island. 1 million views level of importance! A conversation about the melting pot of cuisines meshing together to create a unique twist. Think about it, have you ever gotten a saucy jerk chicken in Jamaica? No, you wouldn’t because that Jamaican dish was intertwined with the Bahamian culture and our love for gravy and sauce on food ( we love wet food) and it produced this Bahamian twist to the jerk chicken. And I can go on and on about the different foods here that have been amended to fit our culture.

It was an amazing experience working with Sonny and playing a role in the direction the story went. Over 1 million people tuned in and I hope you did too.
