GRATEFUL for the days I get to be a muse in someone’s creative vision, alongside other incredibly gifted humans. What a treasure. What an answered prayer. 🥹

HOUSTON! We’re honored to bring AIRPORT BLVD to the Houston Cinema Arts Festival, co-hosted by community partner Black Cinema Club HTX, for a special screening at the historic DeLuxe Theater this Sunday, October 4 at 7 PM.
@cinemasocietyhtx @blackcinemaclubhtx

In the transforming streets of East Austin, Xavier watches his community, friendships, and sense of home disappear. As the city evolves around him, Airport BLVD becomes a soulful, romantic, and bittersweet love letter to a city old and new.

After the screening there will be a live Q&A with the Producers and Cast of Airport BLVD, moderated by Holly Herrick of Austin Film Society.

Hangout for the afterparty, presented by Houston Music Classifieds, with a live performance by Rubato Elegy. @houstonmusicclassifieds @rubato_elegy

Austin was the fourth character. 🎬

For our Issue No. 06 cover story of @theledgera Magazine, Jamal Gamble @profx sat down with The Last Shot Podcast to talk about @airportblvdfilm : ninety minutes, black and white, scored by a jazz trio, and set on a six-mile road at the center of a city’s changing identity. Jamal plays Xavier, a photographer watching his neighborhood disappear, and produced the film too.

After a Tribeca premiere, Oak Cliff Film Festival, and the New Texas Voices Award, Airport BLVD screens at the Houston Cinema Arts Festival on Oct. 4.

What happens when the city you love no longer feels like it loves you back?

From Tribeca to Oak Cliff and now Houston, AIRPORT BLVD is carrying the soul of East Austin across the festival circuit.

On the new episode of The Last Shot Podcast, lead actor and producer Jamal Gamble takes us beyond the frame. We talk about landmarks demolished after filming, the quiet devastation of displacement, performing with the rhythm of jazz, and the responsibility of telling a story real people are still living.

It’s about what gets erased, what deserves to be remembered, and what it means to keep loving a place that’s changing beneath you.
