Fastest lap from this weekend running @nasamidatlantic at VIR.

Unfortunately there wasn’t really anyone signed up for Super Touring for this event, so I switched to run time trial. I threw some ballast in the car and ran TT3 with the goal of breaking the long standing record of 1:58.7.

Ran old tires after the rain Saturday just to feel out a few changes, then put sticker 200 TW Hoosiers on for Sunday morning.

Clicked off a 1:57.4 on lap 2 breaking @popdroprolll record of 1:57.7 he set Saturday, then ran a 1:57.1 the next lap! Christian proceeded to run a 56 that same session, keeping his track record. Few people I’d rather lose to 🤝

Regardless, went out and exceeded my expectations, stoked with how the C6 has turned out this season!

Not the greatest weekend racing @hyperfestgt at Summit Point in the C6

We unloaded great for practice, car was quick and balanced out of the box.

In qualifying, we had a brake line failure for the rear circuit as we started to push, resulting in the pedal going to the floor in T1. Thankfully we didn’t got it stopped in time and no major issues, and got it fixed for race 1 thanks to @lukemcgrew having a line we could make work.

We rolled off P3 for race 1 and had a good start, then I proceeded to spin the car on cold tires as soon as I tipped in the throttle on the exit of T1. The first time I’ve ever spun a car in a race, very disappointed in myself. I then got to drive back up through the field, ending up in P7 when a red flag came out that ended the race.

For race 2 we started P2 since we had the 2nd fastest lap of Race 1. Had a decent start again, and maintained P2. It started raining in T9/10 progressively harder making it treacherous. On lap 3 while still running P2, the rear stepped out in straight line braking for T10 and I was along for the ride in the gravel. Thankfully saved the car and kept it away from the wall, and was able to get back going and embark on another recovery drive, this time resulting in P6.

Overall a pretty disappointing weekend for what I expect out of myself, but still a fun time racing with friends. Busy schedule ahead, but we will try to get the car back together for the @nasamidatlantic season finale at VIR!

Thanks to everyone who supports/helps me, it would be difficult to put this car on track otherwise!
