I had the privilege of attending the Founders’ Day event hosted by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law!

This organization was created in 1963 at the request of President John F. Kennedy, who gathered 244 lawyers at the White House and charged them with using their training to move the civil rights struggle from the streets to the courts. That call to action still echoes today.

The most powerful moment for me was seeing @repscfigures, who represents my district in Montgomery, Alabama—the birthplace of the civil rights movement—take the stage as the keynote speaker.

As a young Black man from Alabama with big dreams and a heart for justice, I saw more than a Congressman—I saw myself. His presence reminded me that we don’t have to come from power to walk in purpose. His journey gives voice to mine.

61 years later, and the fight for voting rights is far from over.

Honored to join @leagueofwomenvoters as we commemorated the 61st anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and recommitted ourselves to protecting the freedom to vote.

It was an honor to receive an invitation extended by Vice President @kamalaharris and her team after reviewing my resume, my work, and the impact I’ve been building. Moments like this are earned long before they arrive through consistency, credibility, and a commitment to service.

In 2019, I was a 15-year-old watching an exceptionally qualified Black woman step onto the national stage with clarity and conviction. “Kamala Harris for the People” was not just a campaign phrase. It reflected how she had already lived her career. From the courtroom to public office, she made clear who she believed leadership was meant to serve. I believed her then. I believe her still.

Even at that age, I understood the reality of this country. A nation shaped by racial hierarchy, systemic inequality, unequal access to opportunity, and freedoms distributed by design rather than fairness. That understanding did not harden me. It sharpened me. It showed me why representation matters and why leadership rooted in justice is nonnegotiable.

That clarity helped guide my work, including the founding of @project_smiless, and continues to shape my involvement in fellowships, campaigns, and advocacy centered on service and accountability.

Deep gratitude to my mentor, @tk_webster, who assisted me throughout this entire process and made that day possible. Your guidance, belief, and investment continues to open doors and sharpen my purpose.

Vice President Harris, thank you for the conversation, the affirmation, and the reminder of what leadership grounded in service looks like.

God does not call the qualified. He qualifies those He calls.🇺🇸

Thank you, Chief of Staff Powers, for hosting the Intern Roundtable Training.

Today was more than an onboarding session. It was a challenge to lead. Chief Powers set a clear standard of excellence for our freshman SGA members and made it known that their responsibility extends far beyond student government.

He emphasized that great leaders do more than attend meetings. They study public policy, engage with their communities, and build relationships with local leaders, state legislators, and members of Congress. He challenged students to become informed, involved, and impactful.

While organized in his role as Chief of Staff, the training reflected the same values of leadership, service, and civic engagement that define Project Smiles.

Thank you, COS Powers, for investing in the next generation of leaders and showing us what it means to lead with purpose.

Leadership is more than a title. As Chief of Staff for the Student Government Association, my role is to shape the direction of our administration while mentoring leaders at every level. No walls needed when your presence builds the room.

I led the Freshman Roundtable and Onboarding Seminar to connect our interns, strengthen their understanding of SGA, and help them step into their purpose. Every detail was intentional and rooted in community, growth, and direction. Strategic in strategy.

Every lesson from my time at the U.S. Department of Transportation and on Capitol Hill prepared me to lead with wisdom and to build other leaders. Vetted by experience.

This new class is sharp, driven, and ready to lead. The foundation is set, the standard is clear, and the next era of leadership at Alabama State University starts here, with them.✍️🏽

I had the honor of speaking on Igniting Change, a D.C.-based radio show dedicated to social justice. Alongside Attorneys Barbara Arnwine and Darryl Jones, I broke down the pause on federal financial aid—proven to be a political scare tactic—the rollbacks on DEIA policies, and mass deportations.

We say we want higher reading levels, yet we’re pulling kids from schools. We say we believe in fairness, yet we strip resources that help people succeed. We can’t stay silent—it’s time to take action.

Over the past few months, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing firsthand an agency that truly advocates for the American people.
Through numerous successfully completed projects, the Department of Transportation has significantly enhanced my growth as a professional, government contractor, and leader.

My passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of others led me to the DOT. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by underrepresented communities, I’ve found immense fulfillment in contributing to this mission. From leading impactful projects to participating in executive retreats, and even having the incredible opportunity to hear Secretary @pete.buttigieg speak about the future of transportation, I’ve embraced every moment.
