New @cavs season. New chapter for dedicated fan Mariah Bowen, who never stopped cheering on the team while facing leukemia.

When 13-year-old Mariah was undergoing treatment for acute promyelocytic leukemia, or APML, her love for the Cavs followed her through it all. She watched games from her hospital bed, decked out in wine and gold, and had opportunities to meet players and Cavs personalities during in-hospital visits. But for Mariah, “team” extended well beyond basketball.

Under the care of pediatric hematologist-oncologist Dr. Seth Rotz, Mariah received weekly outpatient infusions Monday through Friday. Along the way, she made our Adolescent Young Adult Hideaway space her own, bringing video games and using the area to relax and spend time outside of her infusion room. She became so close with her care team she’s been making handmade gifts for them during art therapy.

Earlier this month, Mariah finished treatment and rang the Bravery Bell surrounded by family, friends, caregivers and her community.

As the Cavs tip off their home opener, we’re cheering right alongside Mariah who’s there tonight.

Let ‘em know, Mariah! 🙌❤️💛

Some nights are exactly what your heart needs.

The girls laughed, played, and soaked up every minute of the Patches & Pairs launch with @oliverpatchproject and @projectoutrun at @gktwvillage

After everything we’ve been through lately, seeing them this happy meant more than words can say. We felt loved, welcomed, celebrated, and safe, a place where we could just be ourselves and know we belong.

Forever grateful for the love, friendship, and heart behind this beautiful night. Thank you for creating this space for our family. #epilepsy #epilepsywarrior

📦👟 A surprise package that came with SO much joy! ❤️✨

My friends at Project Outrun sent me the sweetest surprise, and I’m so excited to share the amazing gifts I received! 🥹💖

Project Outrun is a nonprofit that supports children facing pediatric cancer through the power of shoes. 👟 Their mission is to help kids in active treatment design their own custom shoes, giving them a sense of control, creativity, and empowerment during an incredibly difficult journey.

Through their program, these incredible warriors are encouraged to keep moving forward, one step at a time, toward the finish line. 🏁💪

Their core values — Heart, Movement, Hope, Joy, and Community — resonate so deeply with me. ❤️ And one of the things I love most about Project Outrun is how they use movement and mindset to bring positivity into such challenging circumstances.

Today, I got to experience a little piece of what the children in their program experience, and let me tell you… my colorful, custom shoes brought me SO much joy! 🌈👟 Sometimes, something as simple as a pair of shoes can be a powerful reminder of hope, strength, and the importance of finding joy in the little things. 🥹✨

💌 Know a family navigating pediatric cancer who could use a little extra love? Follow @projectoutrun to learn more about their mission and how to get involved!

Let’s spread a little more hope, one step at a time. ❤️👟

Nothing but smiles because as a team, we Triumph Together!

Because @canesfootball is the new #1 ranked team in the country, we wanted to throwback to when our incredible cancer warrior Paislee was a cheerleader for the day!

Kai is so stoked about his new shoes from @projectoutrun 🎗

I think his smile says it all 💛😁

Isn't it so awesome how a new pair of shoes can bring such joy. Thank you so much Project Outrun for your love and advocacy. Kai had so much fun customizing his new kicks. He got to choose the pattern, colors, and even add his name 🌊

He was so proud to wear them to stick it to cancer night and they complete his Halloween costume perfectly 🕷🕸
