Cleaning out my heart again. 🤍

I used to think only the heavy things needed clearing: the grudges, the what-ifs, the conversations replayed at 2 a.m.

But the sweet things pile up too. The good chapter I don’t want to close. The version of me who felt comfortable, admired, safe. I held on to her long after she stopped making room for anything else.

Beautiful things can still become baggage.

So every now and then, I take inventory. What is actually mine to carry? What have I carried only because I’ve gotten used to the weight?

Some chapters are good. They’re just done.

And I want room for whatever is next.

Champagne Dreams, always. 🥂

Documenting my bravery ✨️

When I attended the launch of Shoe Avenue in @spatio.ph last week, I brought my kids with me just because I didn't want to be alone and awkward by myself...

Lalo na since first time ko, I didn't know what to expect.

We went there to support @nadinedgl of @poshpocketshoes
(Thanks ulit for the invite!❤️)

As we were checking out at the stall of Posh Pocket, @lizlanuzo of @projectvanitycom was right beside me..

(This was much later na after we took the photo with Nadine, Mica, and Rica... as seen in my previous Reel)

Naglaban yung utak ko if introduce ko ba sarili ko or wag na...

Hindi ko alam saan nanggaling yung lakas ng loob ko but sabi talaga ng brain ko "sige na introduce yourself to her, walang mawawala, katabi mo na siya o"...

I think I tapped her shoulder and said:

"Hi, you're Liz, right? I always see you in my IG feed, I'm Kaycee and I'm a makeup artist"

🙈🙈🙈 How I did that, I don't know too, but thank you Liz for accomodating my random introduction and even giving me a follow here on IG ❤️

Tapos sakto Nadine was there and she took this photo/video..Thanks for this Nadine! Because ako mismo I forgot to take a selfie using my phone🫠

So here's proof that I did a brave thing that day. ✨️

As an introvert, di ko inakalang magagawa ko yun. 🙈😆

It was my first time to introduce myself to someone I see online, and hopefully not the last. Haha.

@issyparfums unveils their newest, 536 Scent of Permission 🫦

A sexily intoxicating gourmand fragrance that is simultaneously unsweet and atypical. Not quite your usual yet the pleasure is almost instantaneous.

It opens up with that sharp nail polish on top. Sinks in with brown sugar and cocoa butter you can almost taste. Until it winds down to warmth, of vanilla, cashmere, and patchouli.

Delectable when paired with the other #issyparfums - my fave combo: 536 + 030 Scent of Intensity. Paints a darker red with a smokier fire. 🔥

The choice is ultimately yours.

Your permission. Your scent.

She Managed the Eraserheads AND Wrote the Book That Defined Gen-X Manila?😻 #JessicaZafraCats

🎥A Manila Unlocked Special
🚶‍♂️Watch full walking tours on https://www.youtube.com/@ManilaUnlocked
📘 GRAB YOUR MANILA SURVIVAL GUIDE: tinyurl.com/mlaunlckd

A departure from our usual walks- no street, no stops, just an afternoon with Jessica Zafra.

Before Twitter threads, before hot takes had a name, there was Jessica Zafra's newspaper column- sharp, funny, unapologetically opinionated, and eventually collected into 1995's Twisted, the book that made her Manila's answer to Gen-X irony.

Three decades and a small library of sequels later (Twisted 2 through 9, Manananggal Terrorizes Manila, Chicken Pox for the Soul, and her 2020 debut novel The Age of Umbrage), Zafra came back to a room dressed head-to-toe in 90s vibe for "A Twisted Homecoming".

The mural behind her made the theme explicit before she said a word: you can't get to where you're going without knowing where you came from.

Jessica's books are available through Fully Booked, or on order if a title's out of stock. No event on the calendar right now, but she runs book club sessions and hands-on writing workshops quarterly. Follow her on Instagram @jessicazafrascats to catch the next one.

📍 The Studio, Fully Booked BGC.
