It might kill us all, but in the meantime AI can do some really cool stuff. It's just not going to do everything for you. Like any tool, there are limitations...some of which are your own. This is a big topic and I think we're going to see a huge change in the aftermarket and the types of tools that grassroots motorsports enthusiasts are using in the next year.

Had some time yesterday to stop by Buttonwillow Raceway Park and checked in with 6 of our customers, running both at Classic CW13 and the new Circuit track.

Always a good time getting to see our setups out on track and, more importantly, getting feedback directly from the drivers.

Being there trackside gives us a chance to watch how the car is behaving, see what the driver is feeling, and make recommendations on damper changes, setup adjustments, or driving technique when needed.

It’s one thing to set a car up in the shop. It’s another thing to see it actually being pushed on track.

We love being able to support our customers beyond the shop and continue working with them to get the most out of their cars.

Whenever I get the chance to visit to Monterey, I always try my best to get to WeatherTech Laguna Seca Raceway. There’s just something special about this place. It could be the blood oxygen levels being saturated or it could just be the sheer excitement of seeing everyone all working towards the same goal.

Even though I could not participate this year behind the wheel, I must share with you the unrelenting passions these folks dedicate to this practice. Call it what you may, but in this day and age, caring and being genuinely passionate about something is the coolest fucking thing you could do.

Win or lose, these folks are all inspirational heroes in my eyes.

Maybe in a few years I will take it to these levels but, for now, I will look for more seat time.

The consistency @pronto.zn8 has had since first crossing paths with him at Buttonwillow last year is a testament to how important ongoing chassis and suspension development can be when competing at the top levels of Time Attack.

With the GR chassis still being fairly fresh compared to the rest of the competition, it’s impressive to see Jared go toe to toe with the more developed previous generation 86’s who’ve had much more time to hone in their setups. Development help from @southwave.as has made the car consistently competitive between GridLife, SCCA, and GR86 Cup, where rule changes across the 3 call for differing amounts of setup changes.

A 1:39.646 places him 3rd on podium for @gridlifeofficial ClubTR with lots of momentum heading into GTA Finals at Buttonwillow in November.

@pronto.zn8 has been part of the SWAS Sponsored Driver Program for a little over a year now and we’ve been working closely together to continually develop and improve his GR86.

Jared just installed a new damper setup,
@racecompengineering T2RS-spec’d KW V4s with external reservoirs and @swiftsprings main & helper springs. This setup features independent rebound and low-speed compression adjustments, giving him much more control to fine-tune the car’s damping characteristics and ultimately maximize grip, balance, and consistency on track.

He was also able to remove another 100lbs from the car, which is super impressive… this further improves its power-to-weight ratio, responsiveness, and overall track performance.

With @gridlifeofficial @gridlifelaguna Laguna Seca right around the corner, we brought the GR86 back into the shop to properly dial everything in with our Specialty Corner Balance & Alignment setup service.
Our focus & setup is to maximize available mechanical grip while maintaining a predictable balance between the front and rear, giving Jared a platform that is consistent at the limit and repeatable throughout an entire session.

Now it’s time to put the new dampers and setup to the test at Laguna Seca.

And lots more testing and development to come.🏎️

Happy 86 Day to all who celebrate!

This platform is easily the one we cater to the most in a landslide. From daily drivers to track rats and drifters and everything in-between, it’s awesome seeing you all squeeze out as much performance as you can out of the builds we’ve helped over the past decade plus!

Supporting series such as @socal86cup time attack from birth, and supporting racers across the globe in sanctioning bodies such as Gridlife, NASA, SCCA, GTA and more.

In this day and age we should all rejoice in these special cars that focus more on the driving experience. Who knows how much longer we’ll have with them, let alone be able to buy them new off a dealer showroom.

Wherever you are in the world, we hope you’re enjoying your AE86/GT86/86/GR86 (or FR-S/BRZ) to the fullest.
