Proof Deacon Gene Razor + Proraso Green | Deacon Appreciation Day Shave
A personalized Proof Deacon Gene razor, Proraso Green, and Barrett Fragrances Diakonos come together for a very personal Deacon Appreciation Day shave.
Good morning, good afternoon or good evening, depending on where or when you’re reading this, my fellow wet shave enthusiasts!
Happy Sunday from the middle of nowhere, Texas!
The morning started below 70°, while this afternoon apparently plans on reminding us we still live in Texas. Perfect weather for taking my time with a good shave.
And today’s wasn’t just any shave.
It’s Deacon Appreciation Day, and this morning I had the privilege of preaching and sharing the story of my own call to the Diaconate. So everything on today’s counter was chosen with a little extra meaning.
Let’s open the books on this shave:
Pre-Shave: Hot Shower w/ Proraso USA Green
Soap: Proraso Green
Shaving Bowl: The Deacon Shaves The Deacons Bowl Prototype V2
Razor: Proof Razor Deacon Gene personalized
Blade: Gem Platinum
Brush: Rich Hansen Rich Man Shave Blood Oath
Aftershave: Proraso Green
Fragrance: Barrett Fragrances Fragrances Diakonos
The Proraso Green pre-shave and soap brought that classic eucalyptus-and-menthol wake-up call. The Rich Man Shaving Blood Oath brush whipped up a beautiful lather in The Deacon’s Bowl Prototype V2—slick, creamy and cool enough to make sure The Deacon was fully awake.
Then came the personalized Proof Deacon Gene razor.
Three passes with a Gem Platinum on use number three, and we arrived safely in BBSTOWN—smooth, comfortable and zero drama.
Proraso Green splash kept the cooling theme going, and the perfect finale was Barrett Fragrances Diakonos—an Armani Pour Homme-inspired fragrance whose name, Diakonos, literally means deacon.
Sometimes the shave den lines everything up just right.
Happy Deacon Appreciation Day to all my brother deacons.
Ad multos annos!

Be good to yourselves and each other. Have a great day and smooth shaves.

SOTD.

The YETI is here! A magnificent scent and an even greater lather. The bergamot, oud, cedarwood and other fragrance notes come together very well to create a great citrus/dank earth combo. Fantastic collab fellas.

○ Soap/Splash: @eric_thecajunblade The VooDoo Yeti: Legend of The Blood Moon.

○ Brush/Knot: @abominable_creations Spalted Maple w/ new Abominable Creations avalanche synthetic knot.
