Almost 10 months. 🤍

Today, Boris and I cantered for the first time since December.

I’ve been so purposeful about taking this rehab slowly. For 9+ months, Boris and I have been completely on the same page. Step by step, milestone by milestone. And then last week, right when we could have taken this next step, suddenly we weren’t.

When you’ve done everything right, waited patiently and finally get to the moment you’ve been working toward…you expect it to happen. But horses don’t care about your timeline. And apparently being a Type A control freak doesn’t actually give you control over everything. 😂😢

So we stepped back, but not without some frustrated tears and a support team that helped me see that maybe we needed to try something different instead of trying harder at the same thing.

We long lined. We changed things up. We took the pressure off and gave ourselves a mental break.

And today, I went for it, we were ready, I hoped 🙏🏼🤍

Rehab is such a physical process, but no one talks enough about how mental it is, for your horse and for you. Sometimes the hardest part is accepting that a step backward might actually be exactly what you need to move forward.
And maybe it means more because I waited until it felt right. 🤍 🤷🏻‍♀️

Another summer horse show for Boris! We enjoyed joining the rest of the barn at the August FCHC show and CHJA finals while we continue our rehab journey. It’s always nice to have a change of scenery and atmosphere 😊 we both thrive on horse show energy! It’s been a great summer and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for us!
Thank you to everyone that has been there to support us along the way this summer, especially while traveling!

Some journeys can’t be rushed.

7 months in, and today we’re trotting the corners. It may seem like a small milestone to some, but when you’ve walked (so much walking, just ask my FitBit 😂) every careful and mindful step back from an injury, you know these moments are everything.

This process asks for patience on the hard days, faith on the uncertain ones, and the courage to keep showing up.

Time is on our side. There are no shortcuts to building a horse back the right way, only quiet consistency, trust, and the bond that carries you through it all.

We’ll keep taking it one ride, one corner, one stride at a time.

We’re in this together. Always. 🤍💙🐴💙🤍

Wellington camera roll round up 🌴

I remember taking a little day trip to Wellington while I was on vacation with my family. I was walking around WEF business cards in hand, not knowing a single person, checking out all the vendors, and being too nervous to introduce myself and put myself out there.

The following year, I was back and hosting a sold-out business workshop for 10 other equestrian business owners who came from across the US and Canada to attend.

Now, I have the opportunity to go back every year and visit clients who have quickly become friends and LOVE meeting new brands and new faces every time.

Feeling super lucky to be part of this community 🤎🐎
