Oh to be a sprite in the trees on the River Eden.

It’s been a month but I have only just woken up from my Fully Peppered dream.

There are not enough words out there to describe the magic of this festival.

Especially, the impromptu secret on the river in a space so beautifully crafted by @protectyourhearin Me and my dear pal @tomlouisross sent it. His fiddle was absolutely fooooked. Had 2 E strings like, but a genius that is Tom still made it sound amazing. Before the festival, I’d had been through the mill. All the heavies I was feeling came out in that set on the river. I was held by the most kind and attentive crowd, so sincerely, thank you. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to play what I played again. Performed only for those who sit by River Eden.

& for the morning harp and yoga… I almost didn’t bring my big harp @vinyasaliz persuaded me to. She said it would be worth it snd right she was. Even drove it up there- legend. Thank you Lizzi for soothing the chaos for both me and for the morning peppers with your tranquil yoga sessions.

Another massive thank you is to Lorian. Such a grounded and down to earth person and one of the best sound techs I have worked with. By the second morning I told him I wanted the harp to go project out to the hills. He sorted it. Isolated my harp and had a separate monitor facing the tents in the hills. What an honour it was to soundtrack dozy heads, some still lost in a dream.

Pepper crew, it was ambitious to say the least. But, something unbelievably special was built. To the organisers, volunteers, designers, farm crew, liaisons, drivers (@bdw_familytree ) and the wonderful folk who came, thank you.

i finished uni yesterday (🙀) so now i can return to doing what i love most, posting 20 second grainy iphone videos of me djing.

in all seriousness, @headrushuk early in august was a breath of fresh air; i have seldom got the license to play from the harder side of things or go full tilt when it comes to emotional closing vibes. people were very open minded to what i was trying to go for and in struggling with my self confidence abit recently it was reassuring. it’s nice to get these opportunities to go off the hook for a little while.

this weekend im going b2b with @alexmilo____ for @revamp.hq in support of @protectyourhearin at @honeystreet.studio ! (ive lost the plot with including hyperlinks in every other sentence after my journalism assignments) the lineup for this one is genuinely stacked and i’m very interested to hear the new soundsystem honey have got in¡

i’m so grateful i get to do this at all with the way things are it is such a gift to go someplace a bit more intangible for a couple of hours with friends

(also bucket list item ticked off playing orca - 4am at 4am)

love and that,
kev xoxo

We’re honoured to be partnering with hear-in’ for next weeks shindig. hear-in’ is about making hearing care part of the experience.

Founded by @be.lo.ke following her diagnosis of moderate hearing loss and tinnitus, it changed the way she thought about sound and helped align her work with purpose.

The aim is simple, to change the way we engage with sound and move hearing health from an afterthought into something that feels natural.

Through creativity, education and practical action, hear-in’ is working towards spaces where care and enjoyment can coexist.

On 05/09, Revamp Your Senses will be raising funds to help hear-in’ continue that work across venues, events and with punters across Manchester.

And, as it turns out, 05/09 is also International Day of Charity. Complete coincidence, so if you didn’t have a reason to come before, now ya do!

listen differently.
play with purpose.
protect your hear-in’.
