This past May, Fr. Dominic Verner, O.P., assistant professor of theology and @pcathletics chaplain, led student athletes from four Division I teams on a pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago in Spain.

Together they walked more than 160 miles to the tomb of the St. James: embracing physical challenges, deepening their faith, and strengthening their connection as a team.

🩺 More than 125 Providence College students are spending part of their summer in scrubs, labs, and ambulances — getting hands-on healthcare experience alongside their summer fun!

Now in its third year, the SNHS Summer Healthcare Academy has grown to 129 placements across 8 states, with students gaining real-world experience at top sites like Women & Infants' Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, Brewster Ambulance, Rhode Island Hospital, and Brigham & Women's Hospital — plus 40+ partner organizations in all.

Last week, students, faculty, staff, and community partners gathered at the Mondor Center to celebrate another incredible summer of growth. 🎉

A heartfelt thank-you to the Ursino Family and Southcoast Health for their generous support, and to our dedicated faculty and staff for creating these transformative opportunities for our students.

This spring, Elyse Oakley, Ph.D., assistant professor of philosophy, brought her Biomedical Ethics class to the A&P Lab for a thought-provoking conversation on the ethics of using medical cadavers.

Using the Anatomage Table as a case study, students explored issues of patient consent, commercialization, and moral responsibility in modern medicine.

Huge thanks to Joe Magennis ’84, Director of Innovation & Technology, for an incredible demo that helped bring the conversation to life!
