Around 8 years ago, I developed this academic project in collaboration with Greenpeace, called “Despropósito” The idea was to raise awareness of the environmental impact of excessive meat consumption through collage and editorial design, almost 8 years later, the message still holds true. 📣📣 The Plants First Healthcare Coalition has officially launched, and we’re proud to be one of its five founding members. 🤝 Together with Greener by Default, MyNutriWeb, ProVeg UK and Real Zero, we’re working to support healthcare organisations in creating delicious, nutritious and sustainable plant-rich food cultures. 🌱 And the work is already happening. Pilots have been completed across 10 NHS hospital trusts and 36 Nuffield Health sites, with 3 NHS pilots currently live and another due to start this year. @careconference class of 2026! 💛 Last week, I attended the CARE conference, which brings together all the wonderful people and organisations that care about the animals and the planet. Not that long ago, I’d never have thought I’d be amongst some of the biggest fish (no pun intended😉) in the world of animal rights, but here I am, in this very photo! So many inspiring talks and passionate conversations have happened, but also friends and connections made for life and some behind-the-scenes moments. ✨ I will miss everyone and can’t wait to be back next year! 🌍🌱🐾 P.S. The rules for buying food in Europe’s public institutions could soon put health higher on the agenda. A new EU proposal could reshape how food is purchased for hospitals, schools, care facilities and other public institutions, allowing factors such as nutritional value, health effects, freshness and seasonality to influence purchasing decisions. PAN International welcomes the inclusion of food in the proposed EU Public Procurement rules, following our participation in the public consultation earlier this year. This is an important step towards healthier, more sustainable public meals, and reflects several of the asks PAN brought forward during the consultation process. However, further progress is still needed. PAN will continue advocating for stronger nutritional standards, including alignment with national food-based dietary guidelines and greater support for plant-based and organic foods. For healthcare professionals, this is an important policy development to watch. 🌱 Η Vegan Life βρέθηκε στη Βαρσοβία για το πρώτο δια ζώσης meeting του Planetary Plates Network, ενός διεθνούς δικτύου που φέρνει κοντά οργανώσεις και ανθρώπους που εργάζονται για την ενίσχυση των φυτικών τροφίμων και την προώθηση πιο βιώσιμων συστημάτων δημόσιας εστίασης. Συναντηθήκαμε με partners από διαφορετικές χώρες της Ευρώπης που κάνουν εξαιρετική δουλειά για την προώθηση των φυτικών επιλογών και την υποστήριξη δημόσιων φορέων, με ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στα σχολεία, αλλά και σε πανεπιστήμια, νοσοκομεία και άλλους δημόσιους οργανισμούς. Ανταλλάξαμε εμπειρίες, καλές πρακτικές και εργαλεία, συζητήσαμε τι λειτουργεί σε διαφορετικές χώρες και, κυρίως, επιστρέψαμε με νέες ιδέες για δράσεις υψηλού αντίκτυπου που μπορούν να εφαρμοστούν και στην Ελλάδα. 🇬🇷🌱 Η ενίσχυση των φυτικών τροφίμων στη δημόσια εστίαση μπορεί να δημιουργήσει αλλαγή σε μεγάλη κλίμακα, και ανυπομονούμε να μετατρέψουμε όσα μάθαμε στη Βαρσοβία σε δράση! #VeganLife #PlanetaryPlatesNetwork #PlantBased #PlantForward #PublicFood

after a week of struggles with my stomach, i can finally reflect on our time in Kigali! despite the consequences (having to eat rice and carrots and soups for a week), we had a brilliant week! definitely learned a lot about African cuisine thanks to our amazing chef Bola from our Nigerian office who cooked a 6-meal dinner! awesome to see our South African and Nigerian colleagues build relationships, start new connections, get visibility to strengthen our work on the continent! deeply inspired by them and I feel the collaboration in the lead up to COP32 is gonna be just thrilling! insta is more for fun, so I will stop there, but always grateful for my colleagues and seeing old friends, even though I wish I spent more time with some (@ofarhate…)
