I look forward to Set the Table for @designmattersnc all year and spent a few wonderful days celebrating good design, setting a table to celebrate fall, listening to the fabulous speakers, @janescotthodges @christopherspitzmiller and @lauradowlingtheflorist, to name a few, meeting new friends and visiting with old ones, all while raising funds for the important work of @fitch_pediatric_rehab

I want to thank @westonfarms for creating a beautiful magnolia centerpiece for my table and @elizabeth_sheats_art for donating one of her stunning paintings for the art show. The biggest thanks to my partner in crime and friend @margaretsifly for all of your help setting up, taking down, general schlepping, being a fabulous friend and the most fun date!😘

Tablescape Tuesday & Tips for Hosting an Autumnal Dinner for Four ~ If you’re wondering how to plan your next dinner party and what to serve, swipe for inspiration and recipes! 🧡🤎💚

It’s been a minute since we’ve hosted a sit-down dinner for four with our dear friends…so we wanted to bring the cozy by serving some of our fall favorites!

🍂 Old Farmhouse Chutney Cheese Ball with Granny Smith Apples & Crackers ~ This @stonewallkitchen Old Farmhouse Chutney makes a winner of an appetizer every time!

🍂 Boeuf Bourguignon ~ A modified version of Julia Child’s (because we aren’t crazy)…this must be served with mashed potatoes! The beauty of this entree is that it’s cooking while you’re hosting! I make the mashed potatoes in advance and keep in a crockpot on warm with a 1/2 stick of butter at the bottom…then stir when ready to serve! These are not healthy.

🍂 Autumnal Salad of Mixed Greens, Pear, Cranberries, Bleu Cheese & Candied Pecans

🍂 Chocolate Chess Pie ~ There’s only one recipe as far as I’m concerned and it’s the one from @angusbarn (a favorite in our house!)

Of course, have your table set before your guests arrive…these @provvista molasses tortoise plates and bowls are perfection, and that little pop of a peach plate from @shopaplacetocallhome and @darling_lemon linens pull it all together! Stunning florals from @thebluehydrangeafloral and my favorite beeswax @lapetiteabeille_thelittlebee candles in etched glass hurricanes elevate the table as well…et voilà! Happy Hosting, Y’all!

We had the incredible honor of being a vendor this past weekend at our friend James Farmer’s lovely Home & Garden tour! It was a wonderful weekend surrounded by so much beauty and meeting so many wonderful people!
The tables were set with both @ginori1735 as well as @provvista and James has some wonderful tips and tricks to share when setting and layering your table! As he said, we eat with our eyes first, so first impression is everything!
