Tales of #AYearByTheArch
For the second time in years of volunteering, I had to leave early the @wnbrstl, because my tired self did not realized I triple booked myself that day until the week of. After celebrating love with friends, celebrating body positivity, creativity (some costumes were well-done!) and joy, I found myself silent disco dancing with dinosaurs 🪩🕺🦖 and friends at the @stlsciencecenter! I don’t know where the summer of 2026 is taking me but I am enjoying the ride! A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of winning four tickets 🎟️ to UpLate from the awesome @prtraveldaddy in collaboration with the @stlsciencecenter ! Science Center Up Late is the dedicated events series for science curious grownups / adults (21+) in St. Louis! Experience Sound! 🔊 was this night thematic and we had a blast! We kickstarted the night creatively by building our own harmonica using straw, rubber bands and tongue depressors. We then headed to the OmniMax theater for a magical visual and sound experience ⚡️ (more on this in an upcoming dedicated post), then we explored the St. Louis Science Center collection, stepped under the stars 🌌 at their newly upgraded Planetarium (trust me you got to check it out) before closing the night disco dancing 🪩🕺 in front of a (moving!) Tyrannosaurus rex 🦖! There were so many other activities to do - including “Sound you can see. 🔥”. While we did not have the time to see it close-up (we got carried away dancing!), they had a Rubens’ tube which turns music into moving flames, literally dancing to the beat, allowing everyone to literally see sound! @ballet314 🩰 did also an outstanding performance in the planetarium 🪐! We had a blast and the evening flew by too fast! We can’t wait for the next Up Late event! Thank you so much @prtraveldaddy and @stlsciencecenter for the tickets and this experience! The scientist and dinosaur lover in me will not stop speaking about this event!

Just a scenic drive from Yabucoa, about 1 hour and 15 minutes away, you’ll find the breathtaking beauty of El Yunque National Forest. As the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System, it’s filled with lush greenery, cascading waterfalls, and incredible hiking trails with unforgettable views. Spend the day exploring natural pools and mountain overlooks, then head back to the peaceful charm of Yabucoa to unwind by the coast.
