75 years ago today, my mother was born. I am struggling to find the right words to express my love and admiration for this incredible woman: equal parts fierce, courageous, kind, and empathetic. Add to that an unimaginable level of strength and love and you might get an idea of who she is. She has been our unrelenting supporter, even when she’s not sure we are making the best choices. She has spent sleepless nights worrying as my brother and I have been to the gates of hell and back and waited with open arms and kind words to help us heal upon return. She provided a life full of joy and laughter, kindness and wisdom, and a stern word when we’d step out of line. She made every opportunity possible for us to have the best life. I wish I could be with you today mama, I also wish I could show you the gratitude and love I have for you. I love you so much and I can’t wait to see you again. Happy birthday

Lately, I’ve been living in limbo, so many moving parts that are out of my control. I flip-flop between faith and disappointment, acceptance and exhaustion. And I’m terrible at talking about it, I often just don’t know. I’m so thankful for my friends and family, like Hayooshi or my mama, who let me come as I am and love me anyways. Sometimes, it’s a superficial moment of being thankful for my hair or the colors of the sky, or my rad car that give me respite from the anxiety and uncertainty, and sometimes it’s conversations with God, a comfy hoodie, or a hug from Moony in her teddy bear house coat. While I have no clue how the coming months will unfold, I have so very much to be thankful for. #youremybest #matchymatchy #gratitude

Big thanks to my mom for being with Gracie for her graduation. She wouldn't be the young lady she is without all of the people who have been a part of raising her. We may not have extended family, but we made a community of people who have surrounded her with love, and for that I am so grateful. You rock little one! ❤️

I had a visit with Poor Old Ziggy (yes, that was always her name). What a little miracle kitty! She's been adventuring around the city (missing) for TWO YEARS! And was found yesterday. So glad she is home safe. #miracle #cat #rescue #lostandfound
