🌟 Thursday’s Spotlight: Professor Eligio 🌟 As an Instructor at UWF, Professor Eligio loves teaching General Psychology and Human Development across the Lifespan, helping students connect concepts to real-world experiences. ✨ Her passion for developmental psychology was sparked by an interest in how children interpret the world around them, and it continues to grow as she watches her own kids learn and explore. 💡👶🧒 Professor Eligio hopes to inspire students to see how psychology applies not only to their careers, but also to their everyday interactions. And this year is extra special—she’s back at her alma mater as a new faculty member! Go Argos!!💙🐚 Outside the classroom, life is full of joy (and energy!) with her two young kids and their pup, Minnie. 🐾💛 We are so excited to see the amazing things you do back at UWF, Professor Eligio! #FacultySpotlight #Psychology #UKCOH

🌟 Today’s Spotlight: Dr. Wiggins-Jackson 🌟 As a Clinical Assistant Professor and licensed psychologist, Dr. Wiggins-Jackson bridges the classroom and clinical practice. In addition to teaching, she owns a private practice in East Hill where she specializes in couples therapy as a Certified Gottman Therapist. 💙💬 Helping partners strengthen their connection doesn’t just change relationships, it uplifts families and communities. ✨ A teaching moment she’ll never forget? A former student once left a note sharing how her class inspired a path toward a doctorate in neuropsychology. Moments like these remind her of the lasting impact of mentorship. By preparing the next generation of counselors with strong clinical skills, cultural awareness, and ethical foundations, Dr. Wiggins-Jackson’s work ripples far beyond campus. 🌍 Outside of work, you’ll find her enjoying life with her husband and three kids, embracing the joy (and chaos!) of family adventures in Pensacola. 🏖️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Keep up the amazing work, Dr. Wiggins-Jackson! #FacultySpotlight #Psychology #UKCOH

This week, we are highlighting faculty from the Department of Psychology! 🌟 Today’s spotlight: Dr. Blue 🌟 Dr. Blue has spent nearly 30 years in the field, and still feels like he’s just getting started! 💡 ✨ Current research: exploring underserved communities, including adults with seizures, schizophrenia, and neurofibromatosis. ✨ In the classroom: bringing psychology to life by connecting it with things such as Renaissance art and sparking those “Wow, I never noticed that!” moments. ✨ Philosophy: “One person can make a huge difference. Why not me? Why not you?” Don’t miss Dr. Blue at the Health Literacy Panel on Nov. 20, 8AM, Commons Auditorium for an inspiring conversation led by leaders across health fields. Outside the classroom, you’ll find Dr. Blue reading, exploring new ideas, and reminding us that psychology connects to everything. 🧠📚 Thank you Dr. Blue for your incredible work! Keep it up! #FacultySpotlight #Psychology #UKCOH

From a nursing major to graduating with a B.S. in psychology, this journey has been long, but it is my own. I could not be more grateful for every opportunity, every moment, and every person that made my undergraduate experience so special. Every spilled tear staring at a computer screen and every giggle in the UWF Skylab has made this journey so incredibly powerful. No one ever said it would be easy, but I’ve never been more satisfied than when I walked across that stage! #momdaddidyouseewhatidid
