POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Secret agents. Luxury brands. Coquetry and deceit. Mafia connections. All this in Julianna Helen’s self-published debut novel Gold Diggers International that turns the mail-order bride industry on its head with a Charlie’s Angels vibe.

An international ring of women handpick and curate beautiful have-not Eastern Europeans and then deploy them around the world. This playful, fast-paced story follows four of these women who are planted in the path of eligible billionaire men to entrap and marry them.

But not all that glitters is gold. Entry into this lavish life requires the women never disclose their contract with the secret agency G.D. International or the methods by which they funnel hundreds of thousands of dollars into it from their newly acquired wealth. They are financially bound to the agency and leaving it could prove deadly.

Helen’s talents shine in the cast of entertaining characters she creates, though perhaps a dizzying amount, their pitch-perfect dialogue, and her adeptness at juggling the multiple twisty turny plotlines.

This is feminine guile at its best. But to what extremes will one go to change their socio-economic standing, for a life accessorized with designer handbags? Can love be found in a manipulated union? In fact, Helen’s book alludes to the autobiographical. After the loss of her father, she felt the need to process what she observed as a child — the parade of gorgeous, young Eastern European women trying to win over her single father. To this day she still wonders, Were these women in it for love or a better life?

Readers will easily find a favourite character and be left wondering what lies ahead. I sense a sequel...

Calgary’s Julianna Helen grew up on stage getting her first big break in the 1999 Nickelodeon hit series “Caitlin’s Ways.” Ever since she has been involved in dance choreography, film production, directing, writing, and fashion design.

Well fam, that’s it.
The MS Walk has been completed. 💪 And even though we didn’t do any donation campaigning this year, we still hit our $1000 goal, $1,100 to be exact.

I cannot express the gratitude I have to these people. Thank you so much to this incredible team.

Thank you so much to everyone, in the past who have ran, walked, and bicycled. We’ve been doing this for 12 years and because of you we have raised around $30,000 for MS research.

In those 12 years, we started as Team NyanCat because like that little rainbow farting cat running on a continuous loop, we were never going to stop until there is a cure for MS. We are still not stopping, but we might stay low a bit on the fundraising side for the next couple years.

Thank you to all who have supported us!
Jen💜

☀️ STAYCATION VIBES ☀️
☀️ RELAX, ENJOY AND EXPLORE YOUR LOCAL GEMS WITH STAYCATION AT @calgarymarriott ☀️
.
Every summer we plan a small getaway or…a bigger one:) - Summer in Poland was on my list this year but had to wait for later so we decided to enjoy #staycation at one the #yyc hotels: @calgarymarriott (right after my #birthday bash with the girls:)☀️
The moment you walk into their lobby you are welcomed with kindness and help! (actually the experience starts outside the entrance where you leave car key for your valet parking. As you walk in you get the feel of coziness thanks to the darker woody interior and of course : fireplace. Their rooms and suites are beautifully appointed with modern décor, plush bedding & great views (lots of natural light coming from wall-to-wall windows). My room had surely a special decor due to my birthday bash (thanks @upballoons.ca @ferushltd @psmakemefamous @the_revente for all gifts💖) - so on that note we couldn’t miss a few drinks & appetizers with my girlfriends at @oneup_patio that is surely a great feature of the hotel! ☀️
After my morning @starbuckscanada coffee (I actually got it at the M Club Lounge - you can inquire about the access to it via reception - but there is Starbucks coffee shop in the lobby as well!) we’ve “indulged” ourselves in delicious brunch served at the @one18empire that is located right in the hotel’s lobby (my omelette with sautéd kale & cherry tomatoes was incredibly tasty and of course: nothing beats the hot chocolate with the whipping cream on top!)☀️
What I love about @calgarymarriott is definitely its location- right in the heart of downtown Calgary, almost across the @calgarytower with easy access to public transportation that can take you anywhere you want ( so we’ve planned an excursion to @calgaryzoo and it was surely a great afternoon! P.S Thank You @calgarymarriott for the birthday gift of our zoo tickets:)
.
Thank You @calgarymarriott @one18empire @oneup_patio team for making our staycation truly a great one☀️
