Working on polishing the recording of my set for @psst.pgh in June. The track is called Clowns, an inquiry into how our ancestors have survived terrible times in the past (answer: JOY, DANCE, RESILIENCE, etc) So grateful to play and so happy to share! With tracks like this, i feel like i’m finding my niche of “i don’t think many other folx are making music like this” which is deeply fulfilling. #music #original #teaser

In a moment defined by polarization, disconnection, and a steady drip of fear, something different is taking root, starting in Pittsburgh, PA. It’s called People’s Song SocieTea (PSST) — a monthly, curated gathering where artists, poets, and performers come together not for perfection, but for presence. For truth. For dialogue that leads to understanding. Created by performer, Erika JC Laing (Erika June), and launched this January, PSST is part salon, part resistance, part community-building experiment. The premise is simple but powerful: when the world fractures, we gather and we create. Learn more at Facts Over Fear on my substack.

Erika June is a Pittsburgh-based songwriter and creative instigator whose work blends personal narrative with a growing engagement in social reflection. As the founder of PSST! (People’s Song SocieTea), she will perform at the inaugural salon, offering a song written in response to the questions that sparked this series. The inaugural PSST! is this Thursday at @banthateabar — come listen, connect, and linger a while. 📸 : @eddiep_photos
