وافتتاح المعارض الدولية الموازية، ضمن فعاليات الملتقى في دورته ال 12
"ميزان"، في متحف الشارقة للفنون.

⁨ افتتح كل من سعادة عبدالله العويس رئيس دائرة الثقافة بالشارقة، والاستاذ محمد القصير مدير إدارة الشؤون الثقافية بالدائرة، مدير ملتقى الشارقة للخط، المعارض الشخصية والجماعية ..في الخطوط العربية والزخرفة الإسلامية.

وهي: معرض "صور من بلادي الجميلة" بالتعاون مع اتحاد المصورين العرب، ومعرض "لغة الحرف والعين" والذي نظمته جمعية الإمارات للتصوير الضوئي، وافتتاح المعارض الدولية الموازية، ضمن فعاليات الملتقى في دورته الـ 12 “ميزان"، في متحف الشارقة للفنون.

His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture in Sharjah, and Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of the Cultural Affairs Department at the Department of Culture and Director of the Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial, inaugurated the solo and group exhibitions featuring Arabic calligraphy and Islamic ornamentation.

These included “Images from My Beautiful Homeland,” in collaboration with the Union of Arab Photographers, and “The Language of the Letter and the Eye,” organised by the Emirates Photography Society, as well as the parallel international exhibitions, as part of the 12th Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial, “Balance,” at Sharjah Art Museum.

ممتنة لأن تكون أعمالي جزءاً من هذا المشهد الفني المميز، في الشارقة التي تمنح الفن دائماً مكانته التي يستحقها. 🤍

A Meal from the Ground

The Village Weaver (Ploceus cucullatus) is best known for its remarkable woven nests, but every masterpiece begins with energy.

Here, I captured this vibrant male foraging on the ground, carefully searching for food among the soil and stones. Even the smallest meal plays a vital role in fueling the endless work of survival, courtship and nest-building that follows.

Sometimes, nature's greatest stories begin with the simplest moments.

لقمةٌ من الأرض

يشتهر النسّاج القروي (Village Weaver – Ploceus cucullatus) بأعشاشه المنسوجة بإتقان، لكن كل هذا الإبداع يبدأ بلقمة.

في هذه اللحظة، وثّقت هذا الذكر وهو يبحث عن غذائه بين الحصى والتربة، ملتقطًا ما يسد به جوعه ويمنحه الطاقة لمواصلة رحلته في البقاء، والتزاوج، وبناء العش.

أحيانًا، تبدأ أجمل قصص الطبيعة من أبسط اللحظات.

Crown of the Desert

The Eurasian Hoopoe (Upupa epops) is one of nature's most recognizable birds.

Its elegant crest, striking black and white wings and long curved bill make every encounter unforgettable. Watching it calmly search the ground for insects is a reminder that beauty and purpose often go hand in hand.

Some birds capture your attention with their colors. The Hoopoe captures it with character.

تاج الصحراء

يُعد الهدهد الأوراسي (Upupa epops) من أكثر الطيور تميزًا في الطبيعة. بتاجه الريشي الجميل، وأجنحته المخططة بالأبيض والأسود، ومنقاره الطويل المنحني، يلفت الأنظار أينما ظهر. وبينما يبحث بهدوء عن غذائه في الأرض، يذكرنا بأن الجمال والحكمة قد يجتمعان في مخلوق واحد.

هناك طيور تجذبك بألوانها، أما الهدهد فيأسرك بحضوره وشخصيته.

A Borrowed Childhood

Some stories in nature are difficult to understand until you learn why they exist.

This young Diederik Cuckoo sits with its beak wide open, calling endlessly for food. It wasn't raised by its own parents.

Instead, its egg was laid in the nest of another bird.. often a Weaver.. which unknowingly accepts the chick as its own and works tirelessly to feed it.

Watching this moment filled me with mixed emotions. I felt sympathy for the foster parent, making endless feeding trips, unaware that it was raising another species. Yet this is one of nature's most remarkable survival strategies, refined over thousands of years.

These two images tell the same story from different perspectives: one reveals the habitat and the persistent calls for food, while the other captures the fine details that make this extraordinary young bird so fascinating.

Nature is neither cruel nor kind.. it simply follows its own extraordinary rules.

طفولةٌ مستعارة

بعض قصص الطبيعة يصعب فهمها حتى نعرف سرّها.
هذا الفرخ اليافع لطائر الوقواق الديديريك (Diederik Cuckoo) يقف وفمه مفتوح باستمرار طالبًا الطعام.

لكنه لم يُربَّ على يد والديه الحقيقيين، بل وُضعت بيضته في عش طائر آخر.. وغالبًا ما يكون أحد طيور النسّاج.. ليتولى هذا الأب أو الأم الحاضن رعايته وإطعامه دون أن يدرك أنه يربي فرخًا من نوع مختلف.

وأنا أوثق هذه اللحظة، شعرت بالتعاطف مع الطائر الحاضن الذي يواصل رحلة البحث عن الطعام بلا توقف. لكنها في النهاية واحدة من أكثر استراتيجيات البقاء إدهاشًا في عالم الطبيعة.

تعرض هاتان الصورتان القصة نفسها من زاويتين مختلفتين؛ الأولى تُظهر المشهد الكامل والنداءات المتواصلة للطعام، والثانية تكشف التفاصيل الدقيقة التي تجعل هذا الطائر مميزًا.

فالطبيعة لا تعرف القسوة ولا الرحمة... بل تتبع قوانينها المدهشة.
