Quick! Go google the term ego-dystonic.

Bad news: intrusive thoughts can be scary, intimidating, and embarrassing.

Good news: if these thoughts make you scared, intimidated, or embarrassed, there’s a good chance they’re ego-dystonic and have absolutely NOTHING to do with who you are as a human.

I had the pleasure of sitting down with Dr. Katie Mukai and Rachel Mukai, LMFT to explore OCD and neurodivergence - where they overlap, where they don’t, and how someone can navigate getting support.

A friendship where I don’t have to reread my text 14 times before hitting send??? Where I can be completely myself without fear???? Revolutionary.

May we all find people who make being imperfectly human feel very, very safe 🤍

🌱 Well Parent Therapy — Tie a ribbon to a vase of branches to mark a hope, a loss, or a milestone on their family building journey.
🏔️ Highland Park Holistic Therapy
💜 Psyched Therapy Collective — Therapy "Permission Slips" station to let yourself free
🌿 Spaces Therapy LA
🦁 Lionheart Psychotherapy — Get the diagnosis you actually want "diagnosis" like "Fabulous Gay", "Too Hot Too Handle" etc (fun and queer compliments)
🌊 Pacific Relational Therapy — Discover a little taste of what it means to really be seen for who they are at their core.

Come meet the therapists who were made for this community. Ask a question. Start a conversation. Take a breath.
