I am very happy with my collection of contemporaries on vinyl. Every album here is legit one of my favorites and heavily in my home rotation. I’d highly advise checking them out!

Some are friends or coworkers of mine, some I’ve played with, and some I’ve played on. They’re all awesome.

There is a lot of great music being made. Buy directly from artists if you can!

Thanks for the good hangs and the magic made together dear friends. This excursion to SoCal felt like the culmination of the last year for me. I trust that what was made here this week will bring about many blessings to come.

Stay tuned for a very special announcement….
Ok thanks for waiting…

Surprise! I’m very happy to announce the limited-edition vinyl pre-order & digital release of my new Detangler album, “Octave Madness”, available now on Bandcamp only, via Big Ego Records. Check the link in my bio.

I wanted this album to sound and feel like a live Detangler concert and I’m happy with how it turned out! It’s dense at times, and sparse at others. The most important thing for me was that all the band members felt comfortable and relaxed in the studio. I gave each band member a sheet of paper with three phrases from a book called “Effortless Mastery” by Kenny Werner:

“Music is easy.”
“There are no wrong notes.”
“Every note I play is the most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard.”

The spirit of those phrases is what guided the recording sessions that day. I’m incredibly grateful for every note that Ben, Kristin, and Josh played. I love playing with them. I’ll keep you posted on the album release concert. I hope you enjoy the record!

Thank you!
Davin

mssv (mike baggetta + stephen hodges + mike watt) release their NEW 4th album “See You Through” on BIG EGO Records

(surprise)

The new 4th album “See You Through” is out, all of a sudden, today on BIG EGO Records from my band mssv, the post-genre power trio of myself, Mike Baggetta, on guitars and singing, Stephen Hodges on drums and mike watt on bass and also some extra singing.

We recorded this album at BIG EGO studio in Long Beach, CA with producer and label leader Chris Schlarb at the helm (like the previous 3 albums) during the break in our 69-show intercontinental tour a year ago in 2025.

The music on "See You Through" features 6 longer songs as we revel in exploring the psychedelic textures of music in a new mssv way, and was heavily inspired by Curtis Mayfield, Alice Coltrane, Neil Young and a thorough consideration of our current age.

"See You Through" caps mssv’s latest development and evolution as a band on the road, over several years, devoted to serving and reworking the music every night to make it the best it can be.

Available as Limited Edition vinyl and High Quality Digital from the LINK in my BIO^^^^^

This album is EXCLUSIVE to BANDCAMP until JULY 3 when it will be available on all streaming platforms, except Spotify. Vinyl ships out towards the end of June.

No tour this time for release… BUT… some other *interesting* news on that in a couple weeks…
