Just over 2 weeks ago I brought a team together of some of the most talented, kind and hardworking people I know. What followed was fun, inspiring and some of the best days I’ve ever had. Each and every amazing cast & crew member showed up and created magic beyond my wildest dreams. I can’t put in to words how much this experience has meant to me and how appreciative I am for every single person who helped Birthday Boy come to life. I’ve been in this industry for almost 15 years and I’ve never had vibes, attitudes and positivity like this from every person involved start to finish. This is how movies should be made and I have no intention to stop. Thank you all and keep on workin’ day and night!

i guess it’s my turn to make a happy/sad post about how much @birthdayboythemovie ended up meaning to me. joe, thank you for inviting me to join the team (at the last minute 😉). when we started, i assumed i was walking on to a typical indie set. i ended up being so pleasantly surprised and impressed with how much love went into every single moment of this movie. i truly think the final product will show just how much hard work went into making it happen, and how well the crew worked together.

im really proud of what we did, but more importantly, im so happy to have made so many lifelong friends & memories. i could go on & on about each person, but i’ll just say im so incredibly lucky to know you all. (and be married to like 8 of you)

Mommy needs a minute kids.

As I lay here wallowing in post-wrap blues from my 10 days at grownup summer camp where we made one helluva movie, I’m reminded that this sadness is the yin to the pure joy and happiness yang of the experience. ☯️

@oldmanjogan is truly gifted at assembling a team. The Avengers would be envious. Thank you to everyone involved who made it all happen (go follow @birthdayboythemovie ), especially my wife @sydneyyallenn who certainly had ample right to kick me in the uterus a few times for nearly destroying the set with my shenanigans 😅🫶🏼 And all of the patience and grace you all extended to me and my ADHD sidekick (also me 🥴). I can be a lot for the wrong people; I’m beyond thankful I found the right ones!! 🥹🫶🏼

I am so proud of these people, this project, and my kids who only destroyed the house a little as opposed to full blown burning the place down in my absence 🤸🏻

Happy Birthday birthday boys and girls!! Can’t wait to sit beside you all when we screen it for the world 🥳 I love you kiddos and magic makers. So so much. 🫡 🫧 and I’m sorry I only operate at 0 or 100. Full throttle always. 🌚🌝

I just had a 2.5 week long collective birthday party and I am not over it. Making a movie with so many of the friends who I came up with, and with incredible new friends - I couldn’t ask for a better team and a better experience.

I have so many thank you’s and so many gushing compliments to give to every person in this cast and crew. It would simply take hours to encapsulate it all. So for now, THANK YOU to everyone who made this what it was. Thank you for the giggles between takes, the bubble blowing, the photoshoots, the dance seshes, the Buffy/Obsession/Barney movie nights, the mind melding, the cairn building, the hiking and the sock/shoe lending (👀), the ample care taken for my car and ultimate fixing of my tire (😭), and the constant support both in front of and behind the camera. I won’t take for granted how lucky I am to do what I love AND go to summer camp with some of the most amazing humans alive at the same time.

@oldmanjogan thank you for the opportunity to bring Lori to life. I can’t wait for everyone to see this wackadoodle, intensely special movie 🤍

These last two weeks have been some of the most fulfilling, joyous and exciting days I’ve ever experienced. When @oldmanjogan told me about this project he told me he wanted it all to feel like summer camp, and (birthday) boy did he deliver!

In between going to sleep as the sun was rising, giggling until our bellies hurt, hiking in the woods while we talked about life, bubble parties, rock stacking, dance parties, auditions, serious conversations about life, Buffy the Vampire Slayer viewings, popcorn sharing, wrestling, massage therapy sessions, touching grass and photo shoots (you’re the man @cadenflan) we managed to complete something I know we will all be proud of and that people will fall in love with.

Thank you for welcoming me into your family, for teaching me, for letting me grow, letting me nap and allowing me to become Martina. I was in awe every single day being surrounded by so many talented people. I know this is just the beginning of an amazing friendship.

You’ve help to create something wonderful.

You’ve made friends, no, made new family.

You laughed, you cried.

You spent hours together. Lived together.

And now it’s over. What’s next?

Being done with a theatre run, a feature film, a show, short film, whatever it may be, the reality that it’s over starts to set in. You put so much of yourself into something both on and off camera. You make unbelievable and lifelong connections.

Your heart literally goes from 📈 on “action” to 📉 on “wrapped”.

This one is gunna be special, I know it. Keep an eye out!

I just wrapped a feature film that I had the honor of acting in and producing. Still feeling speechless, and so so so grateful. Thank you @theythemusfilm for the opportunity, and thank you to all the cast and crew for making this experience so special. There will be many more posts to come for this incredible film, but for now, cheers to everyone who helped bring this to life. We did it!!!
